What happened?

spoon_jenkins
05-16-2004, 08:38 PM
Here's what happened on the Practice tonight:

* Jamie decided to work for Jimmy's new neighbor firm, even though they probably won't be able to pay her at first.
* Jimmy had a meeting and set some ground rules to avoid the sorts of thuggery his partner has engaged in.
* Elinor decided to take time off from lawyering to raise her adopted daugher.
* Eugene was assigned to a case Alan Shore's working, so he recused himself. Because he's a rookie judge, Eugene is now assigned to night court.
* The former partners met for a toast. Bobby didn't join them although he appeared in episode.
* Alan and Denny Crane were co-counsel defending a businessman accusing of kissing/fondling handicapped employees against their will. I think they ended up with a plea deal.
* Alan and Tara had some ambiguous back and forth about their relationship, but Tara gave Alan a little kiss towards the end of ep.
* The woman from work (the clerk) who likes Alan flirted a bit. She got punished by the bosses for give pot to Rebecca DeMornay, who was in pain after being slugged by Elinor.
* There was an ad for the spin-off, which is being titled "Fleet Street."

Wow, so they really did make it seem like the show was told to not let the door hit their ass on the way out.

Yeah, not that much fireworks in the final episode and the Alan Shore parts were pretty detached from the parts with earlier cast members. By the way, the clerk/gopher/whatever at Denny Crane's firm, whose name I forgot is named Sally and she's played by Lake Bell. She was mentioned by name in the Fleet Street ad along with Spader, Shatner, and Mitra, so apparently she'll have a significant role. Anyone smell love triangle?

FRIENDS--I like the series, although I still think I shouldn't be during family viewing time (7:30-9 pm ET). I watched the finale, and the off-network reruns.

LIZ'S CIRCUS STORY--This is a one-woman show produced by Kentucky Educational Televesion about a woman who worked for a small circus for several years. I don't know if it will be on Nationwide, but it is worth looking for.

I tried to watch the FRASIER finale, but Kelsey Grammer just annoyed the devil out of me.

For the first time in years I watched an episode of SEINFELD. When I watched the series in the 90's, it was one of my favorite. Now it just seems like a bunch of people whining. I wonder how much 9-11 had to do with it.

^^I'm watching Dead Zone season 1 on dvd too.

A few days ago, I rented disc 1 and watched all three there (great episodes!) and just today I rented disc 2.

So I have Enigma, Neitherworld, and The House coming up.

I did see The House fairly recently on tape...but its been awhile since I saw Enigma and Neitherworld.

All three are very good episodes though, imo, so I'm definitly watching all three of them.

Man, these episodes look GREAT in widescreen!

Oh and I'm also watching CSI on DVD recently.

Got CSI Disc 1 Season 1 today and I saw the first episode for the very first time.

I'm pretty sure I'd seen the second episode, but I know I hadn't seen the first episode! It was a pretty good pilot episode.

Anyway, I'm not really watching much regular TV right now..since all the shows are off into re-run land now.

I did see the Enterprise season finale recently and that was pretty good (I actually watched it twice and I liked it better the second time around). And that twist ending! Wow! I'm looking forward to next season!

I have heard commerntaries that are pretty good (like Farscapes, mainly with Ben Browder, and also some of Josh Wheldons commetaries for Buffy are pretty good) and then I've heard some that are kind of dull.

I wonder how DZ's would be...

I watched Pitch Black tonight and IMO, it was a pretty good movie.

Van Diesel was good in it (MUCH better then he was in XXX, a thousand, no a million times better. lol).

The rest of the cast was good too.

*sigh* Poor Claudia Black though... :(

And man! The behind scenes for Chronicles of Riddick...WOW! That movie looks AWESOME! Really! Man, it just looks AMAZING. It'll prob be a alot better then Pitch Black even (I'm pretty sure there will be no comparison!)

Just everything about it looked amazing. Really! The sets are SO huge and really impressive in the movie. The visual effects, the some of the different scenes they showed with the characters, etc.

And the story sounds REALLY interesting and exciting.

This could be the epic Sci-Fi movie that a lot of people have been waiting for.

We've had our fantasy epics...now here comes the Sci-Fi epic!!

I definitly want to see this movie. Possibly at the threater, but most likely I'll just see it when it comes to DVD.

I watched a new episode of the Dead Zone tonight! It was pretty good!

In fact, the 3rd season so far has been really great!!

I like DZ alot. Its one of the best shows on TV (and definitly the best show this summer, imo).

As for tommorrow: I'm going to watch the Stargate SG-1/Atlantis lowdown on Sci-Fi. Its going to show behind the scenes/sneak peaks of both shows.

I want to see it cause I'm planning to check out the 2-hour Stargate on Friday and Atlantis 2-hour the next Friday. (aside: I hadn't watched Stargate in awhile, but I just recently saw the Lost City 2-parter and it was pretty good, imo. So I'm looking forward to the Stargate and Atlantis premiers! Hope their good!).

Anyway, I'm really glad there are a few new shows on this summer. I'm watching Dead Zone (course), Monk, Stargate, Stargate: Atlantis, and I'm planning on checking out 4400 next Sunday!! :)

No matter what happens that may affect the Slayer, she's always on duty. That's what I got out of it.

i think "once more..." is w/o a doubt, one of the finest hours of anything on television...EVER!!...however, "the body", at least for me, it just did everything right...it wasn't overwrought w/ scene chewing over the topness...it had this really organic flow...there was something so humane in it...i'm hard press to find words to properly describe what was going on in every scene...i mean you really get the since of loss...not of just buffy's but by eveyone who knew joyce...i was especially moved by spike and anya's monologues...it just really hit where it was suppose to...it just seemed ironic to me that a seemingly stupid show about an ex-cheerleader who kills vampires tackled the death of a major character better than any "realistic" drama, ever had...at least to my recollection...so that's why for me, it's the best episode of the serious...it has a gravity about it that in my opinion has yet to be duplicated or surpassed.

4400 people who've disappeared mysteriously over the past 60 years suddenly return -- in a "comet" no less. No one has aged and no one has any memory of what happened. And now they're exhibiting powers. Add to this the problems of returning to a world where time has passed without them (as little as three years and as much as sixty) and you've got an interesting premise for a series.

4400 people who've disappeared mysteriously over the past 60 years suddenly return -- in a "comet" no less. No one has aged and no one has any memory of what happened. And now they're exhibiting powers. Add to this the problems of returning to a world where time has passed without them (as little as three years and as much as sixty) and you've got an interesting premise for a series.

i totally dig the premise...was it anygood??

Yes. I thought they handled things in an interesting and entertaining way. One woman, gone 12 years, returns to find her husband remarried, and the child they had together doesn't know her, or know of her. Another, gone 25 years, finds he's no longer a partner in the company he founded and his wife is hospitalized with Alzheimer's. There's a six-year-old girl from 1946 with precognitive powers and a teen with healing powers. Too many subplots to mention, really. And it's all being investigated by a man and woman working for the government, a la X-Files. I'm looking forward to following this for the summer.

Here's what I've been watching recently:

On Thursday, I watched Kingdom Hospital. Its almost to the end. The final 2-hour episode is on Thursday.

You know, the series has been very strange. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I like it and the weirdness makes it unique. But on the other hand, sometimes is TOO weird. I can see why the series hasn't caught on...

On Friday, I watched an episode of Stargate at 5. Then at 8, I watched the 2-hour season opener of Stargate season 8. It was VERY good! I enjoyed it alot. (aside: I can't wait to see Atlantis on Friday! It looks VERY good!).

On Saturday, I watched nothing. Saturdays are so boring. lol.

On Sunday, I watched the 4400 2-hour premiere. It was great! I'm really liking the storylines so far. All the characters are really interesting too. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this!

Yesterday, I watched an episode of Stargate and then the Stargate Monday maratheon. Here's brief run down of the episodes I saw:

Absolute Power: Before the maratheon. Interesting episode. Dr. Jackson goes bad?! Hmm. Liked it.

Seth: An ok episode. Had some good parts.

Fair Game: I like the Asgard. I'd like to see how SG-1 orignally met them! Good episode.

Legecy: This was a VERY good episode. Micheal Shanks was great in this one! He really had me believing that he went crazy!

Learning Curve: My favorite episode of the night. A very smart concept and some interesting characters. Jack was very good in this episode. Best part of the episode: the ending. wow. Perfect ending. Happy, but also sad.

Anyway, as you guys can see I've been watching alot of Stargate. I'm really getting into the show. Its very good (aside: not Farscape or Babylon 5 level, but definitly better then Enterprise! ). This is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows right now.

I've been watching the daily episodes (reruns) and I'll be watching the new ones.

Anyway, this week I'm watching more Stargate, Kingdom Hopsital, Atlantis, 4400, and Dead Zone! :)

My wife and I are addicted to Alias. Every night, she says "do you want to watch Alias?" I like it so much, that I watched Alias instead of RAW (I still recorded it of course) We are through the middle of the second season on DVD. Great show!

Hey Deathstroke, why are the AVs with cigars the coolest? (I don't even smoke)

The avatars. Yours is badass, mine is badass.

My wife has watched so much Alias over the past week or so, that she has started to have dreams about it. I'm pulling the plug for the evening and watching Smackdown.

I watched an episode of Stargate last night called Prodigy. It was an ok episode.

I also watched two episodes of Babylon 5 last night on DVD. They were " Midnight on the Firing Line " and " Soul Hunter ". Both are good episodes, imo. I think I like Soul Hunter better then Firing Line though. :)

Oh and I also watched a Law & Order episode last night (on NBC). It was good.

Tonight, I'm watching an episode of Stargate at 5 central and then Kingdom Hospital later tonight!! Its the 2-hour finale (likely the 2-hour series finale).
