I must admit to Wife Swap. It was on, I didn't change the channel... I feel SO DIRTY!

That home-schooler Dad gave me the creeps. Not because he was home-schooling his kids, that's merely a reference point. When the temp-Mom took away "the Whacker," I thought his neck was going to explode. I hope to God they had a "No Reprisals" rider thrown in for the sake of the kids. Through most of the show, he looked like he was counting up how many whacks each kid was going to get when his own wife got home. Given the choice, I'd want to live with the loud family. People that quiet scare me, they really do!

I wonder if the kids keep in contact with the switched Moms. It might be interesting in say 15 years to get in contact with the kids and find out if the brief time they were exposed to another way of life altered their previous trajectory. Kind of like an American "Up" series.*

*In case you're unfamiliar, there's a series of documentaries in England, now referred to as "the Up series" which first interviewed children @ age 7, and has since, depending on the children's availablity/willingness continued to follow their progress and changes every seven years. It can be "netflicked" and is worth a weekend's perusal.

John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk

just watched this today on the cable, black starz channel. my goodness this man has extensive knowledge on the history of the black man! some things i seemed to agree in and most times I just took in the knowledge to be stored away and researched for later, but I am ashamed to say that before today, I had never heard of the man, I think. And I looked up some stuff on him on the net, and yes, he was very honored for this knowledge that he had and passed on. blind and animated, he is one interesting person to listen to.

Yes, it's good. It might make you think of Lost with its large cast and a general feeling of "What's going on here?" I don't want to give anything away. It began as a miniseries, but it will be a regular series.

I just finished Smallville Season 3.

Man, I've never been jerked around that much as a viewer.

I had to put the set down for a couple of days because I got tired of the obligatory minute-thirty of Lana and Clark doing the same old "won't they or won't they" dance.

I've enjoyed the first two seasons (I haven't seen any of Season 4) but third was pretty silly many, many times. How the hell does Chloe get medical records, cell phone records and cops to do fingerprinting as a high school student? Are Kansas public records online? They sure aren't in South Carolina. Plus, Clark's secret-hiding has gotten pretty sloppy during the third season.

The part of the season finale's climax was... a haircut?!?! Oh, I get the bad man turns badder. Still...

What did you think of the reunion?

Personally, I love the sitcom, but I thought the reunion was terrible.
It was fun to watch the old scenes. I could've done without Danny Bonaduce. An interview might have been more fun than just dinner table banter. It was okay. But I prefer reunions where the characters get back together, not the actors. Even the Joe-less Facts of Life reunion was ultimately more rewarding.

Yeah, I liked the Facts of Life Reunion movie.

You know why Jo wasn't there right?

Apparently the four girls made a vow to never do a reunion thing, and she apparently stuck by the vow. At least that's one thing I saw.

After alot of hype about several less-than comedies, I think NBC finally found it's Friends successor. And this one has actual black people in it! ... as regular characters, with personalities and everything!

Medium

Patricia Arquette is great, in a really cool show by Moonlighting creator Glen Gordon Caron, though he's more in Clean & Sober mode than "Dave & Maddy" this time out. I can't wait for the second episode tomorrow, and the third next monday!

Shameless.

Brilliant British comedy-drama about a family living on a rough council home estate. The father of the family the belligerent, layabout, good-for-nothing Frank Gallagher is hilarious to watch with his drunken antics. Great characters, and some cracking storylines. Brilliant British comedy called Peep Show. :D

The two main characters are great, as it adopts a first person perspective so we see the action not as a 3rd party, but from the very points of view of the characters. Is especially funny when you hear their thoughts and embarassing moments they get in.

The writing and acting are top-notch, far superior to most tv. It's been on for 7 years already, but I've just recently become hooked via the re-reuns on Showcase. Check out this review (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0156442/usercomments) from one "Snow Leopard" from Scotland at imdb.com , which dies a good job of describing the show's appeal.
