Resident Evil 5 and Ridge Racer 6 look to be the frontrunners:

Is ridge Racer really a major franchise anymore?
We are in the post Gran Turisomo world after all.
Resident Evil 5 i could see giving it a bump, possibly, depending on what it looks like. Mainly because the series stagnated lately (Unless, that is, you really love Outbreak for some reason), unless you own a Gamecube, and ive been constantly told no one owns a gamecube (and if they do, they are nintendo fanboys who won't buy an xbox)

Ridge Racer carried a lot of weight on the PSP and is one of the top three sellers on the system, which is impressive considering that it's essentially a 'collection' of the prior games in the series. There are still many gamers who don't like Gran Turismo, myself included, and for arcade-style racing, few are able to match the pedigree of the RR series (at least before it went south with R4 and RR5); Burnout is about the only one that comes to mind, though there are probably a few others I'm missing. These franchises actually mean a lot more for Microsoft's presence in the Japan rather than in the US; their importance is more relevant in shoring up a bigger cut of the Japanese market.
RE4 should find a much wider audience once it hits PS2.

I don't think Ridge Racer does a lot to influence people to buy an X Box but I do know that Resident Evil is one of the factors that would influence me. Resident Evil 4 was one of the best games i've played, ever. Being the first next gen system out during the holiday season is going to do a lot for sales. Look at the Nintendo D.

When RE4 comes to the PS2, it will be missing a lot which made it great on the Gamecube. Graphics, Gameplay, and Load Times will hamper it.
