It's part two of the Hulk's involvement in the "House of M" crossover. The Hulk has allied himself with AIM to topple Exodus' fascist Australian regime and all of smashing happens.
Your thoughts!

Good issue. Not as good as the last one however. Nice to get confirmation that the other character was Vanisher however. Always nice to know. :)

Enjoyed it. The scene in the sub with Banner and the woman from AIM dragged on a bit.
I do not like the Pyro wearing Firestorm's headgear. Pyro obviously reads DC. The best looking Pyro, IMO, is in the X-Men evolution animated series.
The last pages were the best. Hulk as leader of Australia? I can live with that.

Ive liked this tie-in so far. I didnt think it was great at first, but after this issue, i think it turned out good. The one thing that im really disappointed with is the art of the Hulk. Most of the time he looks really bland. And what they did with the tribal paint is crap. In pictures you see its a lot more visible and there is more of it. In the book, its stupid, he's got like one bar across his forehead and a couple smudges on his chest. They definitely should have done a better job with that.

I've gotta agree. The art just isn't doing it for me. The last page was great though. The Hulk would be a much more effective leader than our current prime minister. ;)

is hulk WAY too big or not?

I found the story rushed. I mean, the fight was over in a few seconds. Plus, I really didn't like the art at all. The Hulk should look imposing, bigger than life. The artist just didn't convey that at all.

I thought the issue was great. Definatley my favorite tie-in. I cant critic to much because this is my first glimpse at the hulk series, but coming from a new rerader... I love it. I am definatley sticking with this title after the house of M tie-in. The Hulk seemed way larger then life too me. They really making him out to be a pissed of mother f&*cker. The hulk steering that whale is the whole reason I like comics. Doing stuff that cant really be done in movie's. Anything you can imagine can be drawn and this issue was definatley larger then life for me.

Yeah, that whale bit was neat to see!
And the end fight and resolution was perfect. Hulk didn't waste any time, so much so, in fact, that we only got what happened form Scorpion's perspective.
Unfortunately, I don't really know who much of the supporting cast is or was in the real universe.(heroes and villains)
Pyro I know, and Exodus I more or less know of, but Scorpion and her mother, and the robot kid and her dad, the Unus guy and the 3rd baddie of that evil group I don't know.

Yeah, kinda. Still interesting, though.

:D It's just the fire hair that's bringing up the Firestorm comparisons, and he's had it before. But his headgear is pretty much identical to what he wore during some of his Freedom Force days.

I'm really enjoying the Hulk House of M tie-ins. They're shaping up to be the best of them all the HoM tie-ins. In fact, I'm surprised that the core tie-ins (if that makes sense) of Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and Hulk have been so good. Pleasantly surprised, indeed.

Couldn't agree more.
I loved the first few pages when the (captain?) was interrogating Banner. He's a scientist yet he's willing to belay his doubts for the tranquil life. Only Hulk suspects something...
then the comic is fast forwarded into the most trite, 1-dimensional fight scene. At that moment I realized that PAD had little invested in this HOUSE of M storyline. He wanted the freedom to write a different story but he had to complete his obligation for the fascist storyline.

I hadn't noticed this in earlier issues, but for someone with PAD's level of wit, he writes some excruciatingly bad expository dialogue.
He even felt the need to explain the whale bit, even when after it was perfectly laid out for us artistically.
The whale bit WAS priceless, though. :D

whale part was probably one of the coolest things I've seen this summer!
Hulk really is my favorite tie-in. I'm new to comics, and the reason I started was because just before my final exam, I heard about the new Hulk video game and just started thinking how cool Hulk was..which lead to my interest in comics. There have only been 3 Hulk issues that have come out since June, but each one is a blessing to me. Long live Hulk.

I think the 2 Hulk HoM tie-in issues have been the best HoM tie-In issues thus far. I'm really liking them...

I've really enjoyed the two House of M tie-in issues, so far. And I also really like the new-look bald "aboriginal" Hulk ... good stuff. Banner denying that there's been any type of rapprochment with the Hulk, when their actions seem to suggest just the opposite, is also interesting.
I agree that the end felt a bit rushed, but I'm guessing this was done intentionally. Since PAD took over, there have been too many subtle (and not so subtle) dream references for me to ignore, and I think the "quick" ending will eventually tie into them.

I was kind of like you about 2 years ago. I wasn't into comics (last comic I had previously was over 10 years before). But the Hulk movie previews got me excited, and the more I thought about the character the more intrigued by him I became. I think the thing that really got me interested was learning just exactly how strong Hulk was (I had figured he was far, far more underpowered than he really is) and that he had a few extra powers I didn't know about. Like a healing factor that puts Wolverine's to shame.
The cool thing about Hulk isthat there are so many aspects (and even versions of him) for every fan to latch onto. You'll find that Hulk fans are some of the most diverse fans there are, and even greatly differ in opinion from time to time. But, at the end of the day, we all love Hulk.
If you're just getting into comics and Hulk like I was, you may find the 40 years of history a bit overwhelming. Just take your time. In just a few months you'll be up to speed with the average Hulk fan.

Thanks for the reference picks. I just don't see why Pyro needs a flame on his head. He's a good character and I like the thought of him having a flamethrower, or cigarette lighter and manipulating the flame from small to huge. But as we saw in Hulk 84 he is quite an artist.

Did anyone else figure out that Adam is the guy from Machine Teen?
'Cause it took me a little while. :D

Actually isn't he X-51, aka Machine Man? Or are they the same character?
And good idea to reintroduce him during HoM, since he'll be in a series afterwards. :)

Yeah I noticed that actually, pretty cool. Odd how they integrated these new Marvel teen characters into the Hulk House of M tie-in (of all places).

Nah, I'm pretty sure the kid on the table is Machine Teen. The father/creator on the other hand could probably be Machine Man but I'm not sure since I haven't had an in depth look at the book.

Well, you're certainly not the only person to grumble about him looking like Firestorm -- all my friends are teasing me about it ;) I think it's a bit weird to have it long-term like that, but it's a nice visual effect. I hope he goes back to regular blond hair when HoM ends (if he survives), though.
I'm also wondering what the hell happened to him and Vanisher at the end of #84..!

I think he saw the Hulk and ran!! That would be the smart thing to do. :D

Welcome to the fold, Punk!
thanks for the welcome, Jomero. Hulk really is a neat character with all the different sides he has; I like the lonely, wandering, pondering-life side, that suddenly turns into the classic green skinned monster.
quick question, how were the recent Hulk runs, like #60-70ish?
