Issue Summary:

It starts with Ryoko talking to Miyashiro about what Kitty knows, and that Kitty knows no more than what she needs to know. Then he mentions that the Path seeks her death.

Kitty is sleeping, dreaming that she is being chased and cornered by some ninja. She cannot phase, but the can. But suddenly, she thrown through a mouth and sees some crazy things, including Ogun. The dream is interupted by Ryoko's assistant calling to tell Kitty that her presence is requested in the special observatory of the Tokyo Tower. Right after the phone call, Kitty walks into the bathroom and splashes water onto her face, then looks into the mirror. Looking in the mirror, she sees a little kid and is frightened.

She arrives at the Tokyo Tower with Lockheed in her bag disguised as the cat. When asking where the special observatory is, Kitty is told that it is closed for repairs... which means secret stuffs is going on. So she phases through the door and goes up to the observatory, where she has a beautiful view of the city. Thinking she is alone there, some ninjas attack. Lockheed bites some ninja ass, and Kitty beats some ninja ass. Many of them get away, but one kills himself after saying that he can now enter the next realm having fought the Daughter of Demon.

Back in her hotel room, Kitty changes into her X-Men uniform and pays Ryoko a visit. She tells her that the Path is not part of the Hand, and gives some proof as to how she knows. After Ogun's name is brought up, Kitty has a flashback of how she wanted to kill him, but couldn't. But after the flashback, Kitty says that they just want to test her, not kill her.

In the hotel room, Lockheed discovers a bomb under the bed and pulls it out.

Ryoko tells Kitty that she will report what she learned back to her superiors. Kitty says to herself after getting back into her car that Ryoko still is not telling her something.

Ryoko is reporting to her superiors, and is told that Section 83 must use Kitty before the Path does.

Back in the hotel, an old lady asks if Kitty smells gas, and says no. But after walking into her room, she discovers that Lockheed is passed out over the bomb. She believes him to be dead until Ogun shows up in her window and tells her that Lockheed is still alive, and that it is more than Kitty can hope for.

To be continued.

My thoughts to come.

I'm enjoying the mini so far... I don't know if that's really Ogun, maybe his heir? Sure looks like him, and sets up a doozy of a fight next issue.

The art is rather pretty, but I don't know if I find it... kinetic enough for the fight scenes.

There was some art errors (Kitty's shirt appearing in one panel and missing the next)

And as much as I love Kitty, this is still glorified fan-fiction.

Smith drew her shirtless?

No, she was wearing a loose button up shirt over a white tshirt. She'd have it in one panel, then it's missing, then it's back, then it's missing etc.

Well it is understandable why it's gone the second time, considering it is not there every panel after.

Anyway, I thought this was a really good issue. The dream and flashback scenes were really cool. The amount of ass Kitty kicked ruled. And Lockheed biting that ninjas ass was hilarious.

Though there was that one error with the shirt, I thought the art was still great.

I liked it!! Better than the first issue....and I love seeing Kitty kicking ninja ass too!!!

I didn't know that she was a trained ninja before this, so I like finding out things I didn't previously know....and glimpses into her past.

She is my fav X character, so this is a treat...

I'm enjoying this far more than either of Yoshida's previous X-outings. I think he's staying true to the character, and giving us an exciting story with an intriguing mystery to boot. I'm beginning to think that his strong suit is writing solo characters, and not a team book.

and Paul Smith's art doesn't hurt, either ;)
