View Full Version : Which of the x-men's attributes would you most want for yourself?

I'm leaving off the obvious: powers, in the interest of getting a more human response.
I chose camaraderie, as I would rather be a part of an awesome team than do it alone, no matter what the powers. Probably why i prefer the x-men to superman/batman/spiderman etc.

I want Kitty's phasing power so damn bad.
o, and Peter's art skills, too.

I want Wolverine's "I don't give up. Ever" quality.
Gotta love that guy!

I agree with fishtaco. Kitty's phasing powers would rule.
And a more human response: Immortality. That would certainly make me the greatest pirate ever.

I went with the shallowest one- body. Well, love life might be shallower, but does anyone SERIOUSLY want to live the soap opera love life of a comic book character?
If my body were in better shape, I would be able to pursue my martial arts training. Immortality is such a curse- thinks Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged from H2G2. Camaraderie is something that needs to be earned... and I'd rather find it on my own

I'd have Gambit's body, which has been known to make may women swoon. And since I'd be in damn good shape, I could persue becoming a better fighter. And, well... I'm already married, so I don't need the love life. And I tend to keep the friends I have. Living forever? No thanks.

I think immortality would be sad......you would outlive every one you loved, and then what would you have? Sounds pretty lonely to me...

The camaraderie and sense of belonging would be amazing. However, as selfish as it sounds I would choose the immortality. The ability to look past my allotted lifetime to see mankind’s future, see all the advances we will make in medicine and space travel. I just could not turn that down.

well being god and all i have every power there is so i look down my nose and laugh at your inferiority...
on a serious note i would say other
the super smartness of the beast crossed with the strength of collosus and the kinetic absorbstion/discharge of bishop would be the best combo ever

What if you already have 4 out of 5?
See, the only thing left for me is immortality, and as others have pointed out, that's rather a double-edged sword; my religious beliefs are such that it's rather a moot point to me anyway. So I guess I'd have to go with the nebulous "other."

I think it's more like you die.
You're actually dead.
You're rotting your carcas away.
And then suddenly you're alive again, because you weren't you, or because you were given a new body, you were ressurected by some divine creature, you continue to live on a different level of existing, or because you just got better from being dead.

yuriko? mystique?
in marvel's books - cyclops and spider-man, not wolverine or gambit, get the women.
cyclops - jean, emma, psylocke (if he wanted).
parker - MJ, black cat, etc.

Its the behind the scenes, homie. We all know Wolvie gets the arse, the writers just don't have no need to go flaunt it. Same thing with Gambit. Part of his powers is charm. Do you have any doubt that he got a gangload of arse before he fell for Rogue?
Cyclops has been with 3 women in his life. We know this because his life was recorded since he was a teenager, same with Spiderman. Spidey and Cyclops' conquests are actually quite below average compared to normal men. Gambit and Wolvie both had full lives before joining the X-Men.

Mariko, Yukio and Silver Fox were twue luv material. Jessica Hoan and he had something goin on as well. And he had a bus load of unnamed love interests/one time love interests (The FBI agent in Rucka's run, the Asian girl in Ellis' run, the girl he and Cyber fought over and many many more)
Cyclops has been with 3 women in his life.
Jean, Madelyne and Emma, true. But Lee Forrester, Psylocke and Colleen Wing also wanted him. We also heard from Beast that he was the most popular on the nights into town, he was just in love with Jean at the time.

Jean and Maddie really only count as one.
Clones and all that
and Psylocke i wouldnt count because that was some mental disorder that caused all that.

Jean and Maddie really only count as one.
Clones and all that
Stryfe and Cable are clones, Magneto and Joseph are clones etc. Has nothing to do with personality though. Madelyne as a human was a completely different being than Jean.
and Psylocke i wouldnt count because that was some mental disorder that caused all that.
Psylocke told Jean that while the Kwannon personality made her more willing to act on her feelings, she *was* attracted to Cyclops.

She wouldnt have done him.
Fabian didnt know from s about Psylocke.
God i hated that period of x-men.
Still that being said she at best was slightly attracted to him but wouldnt have hooked up with him. hell it may have only been physical.....or she may have simply been trying to make jean feel better about her decision to marry that a-hole.
I say it was just sparring her feelings. Like when you say somoene is nice or great

OK, you don't like Cyclops.. so noted.
And it is not like Psylocke has ever been written well since she went through the Siege Perilous.

07-20-2005, 05:28 AM
Of course she has. post seige to about x-men 8
And of course i like cyclops...i just dont like how writers write him. He's far from a good guy, he's a grade a prick who leaves his wife and child in one breathe, then cheats on his next one in the other. He's going to start going around emmas back soon. I mean im fine with all that, as he is a troubled character, but writers insisting he's a good guy, great leader and inspiration to the team i have problems with. The X-men should hate his guts quite frankly
Thats the main problem with comics today. Characters arent really reflective of their actions.
And isnt that a good attribute to want for oneself

Okay... but in the same breath, you're saying that Psylocke's attraction to Cyclops should be downplayed because she wasn't being written well at the time, but that Cyclops leaving his wife and child should always be kept in mind. And you don't see the hypocrisy there? Like maybe the fact that Cyclops -- who always WAS a good guy, great leader, and inspiration to the team -- being written as a deadbeat dad was, oh, say... not being written well? Just because one event occured more recently than the other doesn't mean they weren't both examples of lesser writing on a character. Obviously you're perfectly entitled to your viewpoints, Huz, but let's be consistent here.

No im saying that her saying he was attractive is a piece of dialouge said to another character, and its suspect.
Also she was of 2 minds at the time and the actions are also suspect.
Cyclops leaving/cheating on his wife are both actions done by the character. Now the cheating thing on jean is somewhat suspect as one wonders what counts, plus some apoccy stuff, but the maddie stuff is not.
The psylocke stuff is debatable. The Cyclops stuff is not

The confession was after Revanche's death and Psylocke's mind had been restored.
And Cyclops leaving his wife and kid: He went away to check on a message of his friends that Jean was alive*, when he got back his wife and child were gone. He assumed that Madelyne had left him and had taken Nathan, he even searched for them. He didn't immediately jump into bed with Jean.
*=be honest, if you heard that somebody you knew and who died right in front of your eyes was currently living with your friends, you wouldn't want to check on it yourself?
Huzzah!

The confessions wasnt a confessions. Hell she was probably sparring Jeans feelings.
I mean after that imagine she said something like "You know jean i would never do that, Cyclops is disgusting". Probably not come off very well.

If i could choose a power. I'd have to go with Warren's ability.
i mean the hollow bones & the ability to fly. Also the healing factor thing would work. But if I had to choose, I'd go with the Archangel metallic wings.
But for the human factor. I'd go with the body. I mean most of the characters I've seen have great muscle detail.

when i say wolverine hasn't gotten anyone, i don't mean it literally.
i mean, he's gotten no one high-profile.
spidey and cyclops' conquests are quite below average?
black cat, emma, or MJ as opposed to household names like yuriko, right?
and "behind the scenes"...how do you know what goes on behind the scenes?
"behind the scenes", wolverine and gambit could be gay with each other...the point is, it's speculation.
in new x-men, wolverine said it himself, cyclops gets the best women.

Mariko Yashida of Clan Yashida. The woman that tried to take the corruptness out of Clan Yashida but died from a poisoned blade.
I'm surprised she didn't add Leyu Yoshida aka Sunfire's sister better known as Sunpyre. Or Psylocke even. I know that Elizabeth isn't asian. But I forgot if Kwannon or whatever her name was.
