Here's a link to the Newsarama article on revelations during a panel on Spider-Man: The Other, at the San Diego comic-com.
http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=38391

Some of the revelations....
Peter David wants to use new villains in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
JMS wants to use Sandman, Molten Man, and Doctor Octopus.
JMS says DC's told him any time he wants, he can write Superman.
"The Other" will not it into House of M.
Hudlin will only have three issues left after "The Other."
When asked if anyone dies during the storyline, the writers answered None of the Parkers.

I saw it, and I may pick up the Spider titles again after this arc ends.

From the Newsarama article:
Hudlin said that the third part of the three issues he’s writing is “all out, foot-to-ass, jacked action”. He said it ends with Peter losing a very important organ.

Well, looks like the organic web shooters are gone.

As long as we don't end up with either:

1) One-eyed Spiderman

or

2) Neutered Spiderman.

:p

I'm surprised Hudlin still has time to write comics...

Interesting artwork there. Especially that shot of Peter and MJ in a clinch.

Dunno about the use of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man sketches in the trade dress. Makes me wonder if Spider-Man's gonna end up investigating a murder at the Louvre, tied in with the secret of Jesus Christ's bloodline.

Oh, and for those who missed it, that was a Da Vinci Code reference.

Good news all around:

Peter David now on Spider-man!
JMS still on Spider-man!
Hudlin off Spider-man!

I jest, I jest. I am really looking forward to this story, though.

I'm surprised Hudlin is still paid to write comics.

I did a happy dance in my seat when they said that he'd be losing an organ.

I'm sure Hudlin has his fans (I'm not one of them, though) but the thing is, he's now the president of entertainment for BET. Now, that's not CEO, but that's still a very important position and it would seem it would take most if not ALL of his time. But I guess if he loves comics so much he'll find the time somewhere. *shrugs*

This was taken from the article linked at the top of this page:

Finally, asked now that he’s Chief of Programming for BET, how much time will he realistically have to write comics, Hudlin said he has three more issues of MK Spider-Man after his “The Other” arc.

He added he doesn’t know how much longer he will stay on Black Panther, but that he wants to always be writing at least one comic, “Because I’m having too much fun.”

Yeah, I figured as much. No matter how busy you are, you always find time to do what you love. :)

I am absolutely certain that the organ Pete's gonna lose is gonna be a kidney. I kinda like the suggestion that it's ANOTHER Ben & Richard Parker sibling. Maybe it's someone who's having medical problems and needs a donor... and the tragedy will be that Pete's the only one that can help, but doing so will compromise his identity - not such a big deal, since he's an Avenger, but even still, an emotional decision.

Decent idea, but how does that become a 12 issue crossover, and connect to the totem saga?

I can't imagine the man who wrote Marvel Knights Spider-Man #13 (which is the worst single issue of a comic book I've read since I started collecting again), having any fans. I don't know, when I read he became BET president I had hoped his run on MK would be cut short, sadly this was not the case.

I don't think it'd really take too much of his time to be president of entertainment for BET. Here, I'll do his job for him:

7 hours of music videos featuring every black musician and Eminem
5 hours of UPN sitcom reruns
4 hours of stand up from so-fat-I'm-surprised-they-can-get-out-of-bed-in-the-morning comedians
8 hours of informecials about collectible knives and baseball cards

I did notice you were visibly excited when they said this.
