GTA: San Andreas help required

I need a touch of assistance here.

I've managed to install the game with no problems, but every time I try and play it, it won't let me.

The intro movie plays okay, and finishes with a loading screan, but then if gives away to my desktop and nothing happens. (No freezing, crashing or any problems other than the lack of GTA)

Anyone have any idea what's causing my problem and how to fix it?

That could be caused by a million things, go to the GTA support forums and see if people have similar problems, take your system specs with you and make sure they fit the minimum requirements. Also run it with every other program shut down and see if that makes a difference.
