Does anyone out there know any programs that can reduce music files?

This is a can of worms you really shouldn't open. First, tell me what format the files are in. MP3? OGG? WMA? WAV? MPC?

Secondly, in order to reduce the file size (amount of space it takes up on your hard drive) you have to lower the bitrate of the file. Most mp3s are at 128 or 192 kbps - that's Kilo Bits Per Second. The higher the bit rate (up to 320 kbps), the better the sound quality. The lower the bit rate, the crappier the song sounds.

Now, are you absolutely sure you want to do this? Because unless you back up the original files, there's no way of getting that original quality back.

Download that program. It's free and legal. Set your mp3 encoding rate to as low as you want to go, and drag & drop your files. Click to convert them to a lower bit rate, and your file sizes will shrink.

But I advise against it at all costs.
