There's a pro sports quote from a few years back that I'm looking for, but I can't place it and it's driving me nuts.

The quote is from the past five years. I think it might be 2001-2003 (not sure). It came from a pro athlete who was quoted as saying, "Nobody understands the rage inside me" or something like that. The media raked the poor guy over the coals because he was a very well-paid pro athlete (I think in baseball, but it might have been another sport). I also remember thinking that the media backlash came as much from racism as it did from a desire to criticize a "spoiled", overpaid athlete because the athlete in question happened to be African-American and he was discussing the issue of racism in the U.S. when he made that statement.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

I guessing it was probably Albert Belle.

Great username BTW...

Try taking out your mouthguard when you talk.
That should help.

Dennis Scott was so lame.

He was a Knick for awhile, and had the nerve to take John Starks' #3 right after the Knicks traded him.

Tsk tsk.
