There was a link to a Johnny Depp interview on a Roger Waters site, and Depp said something to the effect that he would love to play Syd Barrett. Has anybody else heard this, and do they think it could be a great movie?

Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett (Jan 6, 1945 - ) was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd, and contributed to name to the group. He has had a history of bizarre behaviour.

Not really, no. I can't think of another actor better suited for the part.

Something like that. He founded the band only to ultimately be kicked out due to his erratic behavior. The song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" was written about him.

A majority of the stuff Waters wrote while a member of Pink Floyd is related to Barrett.

Heck, he looks like a 13-year-old in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."
