In an interview MCD said that in Comics-2-Film section.

This is bizarre since, as far as I know, Sin City takes place in a reality similar to our own.

Not so similar a reality as to hinder people like Marv, Miho, Dwight and Kevin from doing blatantly impossible stuff.

No idea what you are talking about, but it might be riff on his role in the Green Mile, where he was.
