The Flash in the JUSTICE LEAGUE and JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED animated series is Wally West. Has Barry Allen's Flash ever been accounted for in the animated series DC Universe? Was there a Barry Allen Flash prior to Wally's Flash in the animated DCU?

I don't believe it's ever been addressed.

Nothing yet on the previous Flash incarnations appearing in the Animated DCU (aka Timmverse), but it should be pointed out that Jay Garrick appears in the Justice League Unlimited comic book next month I believe.

Like Hal Jordan, Barry Allen has been streamlined out to simplify the character. However, also like Hal, I wouldn't be surprised if Barry gets a cameo at some point down the line.
The thing is, the idea for the JLU Flash is that he's a Wally West who never benefited from the training and influence of Barry Allen. As a result, he's much less capable and mature than the comics' Wally could ever be.
That said, they could still retcon Barry into Wally's past, but they'd have to kill him off pretty early in his career so Wally's inexperience and immaturity still made sense.

I loved the little Hal cameo in the time travel ep. But why stop with cameos? Hell I think all of the big JL characters should get their own cartoons in the ADCU so they can all be fleshed out a little more. Yeah like that will ever happen...

They showed the Flash origin in the dream sequence of "Brave and the Bold" (Flash & Green Lantern vs. Grodd). Wally, an adult dressed in lab gear, was next to a shelf full of chemicals that got hit by lightning.
Doesn't leave much room for Barry, does it?

The only argument I would have againt a Barry cameo, unlike the Hal cameo, you can't tell the difference between Wally and Barry too easily just by looking at them. You knew off the bat, without a word spoken, that it was Hal and not John.

Yeah that would be kind of weird unless they play with the colors and give Barry the slightly darker costume Wally wore in that Superman: The Animated Series and make him a little more bulkier then him. And cast the voice differently.
I'd kind rather see Jay Garrick and Alan Scott in JLU more then Hal and Barry. Though I got a kick out of the Hal cameo in the time travel episode. The Adam Baldwin voice worked pretty well too.

But the JLU comic doesn't take place in the continuity of the tv series.

Barry's got a straight belt, blue eyes that you can see through his mask, and a bigger/taller build. Add the classic chest emplem too, and the problem is solved.

Of all the characters in the LJU, I think Green Lantern's the one I'd most like to see in a spin-off. Maybe not a series centered around John Stewart exactly, but how awesome would a Green Lantern Corps series be?

Actually, there was something of a Barry Allen cameo in "The Brave and the Bold," waaaaaaaaaaay back in Season 1.

This guy was the Central City-based police detective that interrogated the Flash.

It's one of those things that seems to keep getting pitched but WB and Cartoon Network keep shooting down. Dini tried to pitch a show after their appearance in Duck Dodgers. It would have focused on Kyle's training on Oa.

Sure it does. What happens in the comic doesn't affect the show, and what happens in the show doesn't necessarily affect the comic, but they use the same characters and they exist in the same universe.
