hi can anyone tell me if to register SWG you need to register your credit card or if you can use a game card, the way WOW does, and if not can anyone tell me of any other mmorpg that doesnt do this.

You can use both ways. It's pretty standard with most companies. I don't know of any that do any other way offhand.
