It's a simple formula: make the graphics, title and tagline SO close to a recent popular movie that it will confuse the very young, the very old and the very clueless.

I've seen it done with older movies too. I nearly rented a movie called "Black Horizon" once, because it damn sure looked like a sequel to Event Horizon. Good thing I read the back.

I watched this. The funny thing is that aliens not even in the movie. Instead it's this man-shaped alien that's sometimes playstation 1 level CGI and sometimes a guy in a power rangers-esque suit. Also, it has Lorenzo Lamas.

Are you kidding? Sinbad the Sailor was the Johnny Carson of his day entertaining his crew with his wry observations of seafaring life.
