In one of the pre-Infinite Crisis minis? I haven't been reading all of them. I just finished JSA 75 and I read prelude to infinite crisis.

I think it was Day of Vengeance #1 by Willingham (Fables)
Yeah, its one of the mini's and is on issue 3 at the mo.

Thanks for the info. At first I told myself there's no way you can read all the minis, but now I may have to reconsider. I think it would be better if they just did crossover stuff with other books.

I would recommend Day of Vengeance & Villains Reunited as those are genuinely good reads and seem pretty important to the overall story.
I dropped Rahn-Thanagar & OMAC however.

I think all 4 mini's are worth the money. Personally, I like OMAC and Villians United the best. All 3 three are very well put together and there seemed to be a lot of planning put into it, unlike other mini's in the past.

I also agree that the minis are worth it, but Rann-Thanagar hasn't been too interesting, though I'm sure it will pick up.

Also, I think Eclipso took Jean Loring's body in Superman... At least I read that in Crisis Counseling, maybe? There's a thread on that here. Check it out. I think it was part of that 4 part crossover where Captain Marvel appeared.

Print-wise, she first appeared as Eclipso in Day of Vengeance #1. Continuity wise, it would have been in Superman #216 (Part 3 of "Lightning Strikes Twice").

I actually thought having this event be in seperate mini-series was a great idea. If you want to read about the event, you can buy the mini and it wouldn't interfear with the DC books you already get. Unfortunately, they decided to have these seperate minis cross over into many, many books. And, so far, I don't think I think it's created a lot of problems.

I'm actually sad that Jean did become Eclipso. I thought her being the guilty party in Identity Crisis would have been a lot more powerful if she had never become a "super villain." Just a terribly misguided person who made a mistake she can never take back.

But then, that may just be me.

Yeah I agree. I think DC was surprised at how successful Identity Crisis was and are now trying to cash in on every single part of that story.

I agree this was a *horrible* idea. I guess this change might be non-permanent, but Jean this pretty much turns Jean into a joke.

Even if Jean were going to be a villain, she was better off being the an evil/misguided mastermind schemer type instead of just another lunatic supervillainess who is possessed by an evil entity. They've tried to make Eclipso terrifying in the past, but he's always seemed borderline comedic to me.

In any case, I think that Day of Judgement is easily the weakest of the Crisis mini-series so far. (If you're going to skip one, I'd suggest you probably skip this one) All you need to know is that Jean Loring becomes Eclipse after the first couple of pages and that's all that happens to her, no other character development after that. She's possessed.

Now just a sec. I may think that Jean becoming Eclipso is just a stupid gimick by DC to get more of the magic Identity Crisis money, but there is still a lot of awesomeness in Day of Vengeance.

It's great to see obscure and unused DC character take center stage in DC's beg event this year. We have Blue Devil, Ragman, Enchantress, Nightmaster, Nightshade and, the most awesome of all, Detective Chimp. I love that those characters are the ones trying to save the day.

But how many of those characters are actually being written in character?
It's like reading a book with a bunch of people I don't know.

Day of Vengeance is my favorite of the Countdown minis.

I buy OMAC and RANN-THAN, but I'm reading the other 2 also. I think they're all excellent. Gail Simone's mini is so good, that I picked up some recent BIRDS OF PREY issues.

I get all 4 mini series. I started with OMAC and VU but expanded to DoV and RTW.

DoV has definitely grabbed my #2 spot away from VU.

Have had chances to get Ran-Thanagar War as back issues but passed up every chance. I also get alot of tie ins normally. And since most of the crossovers come in books I already get I'm not going outside of my range.

Though I definitely will be getting Blood of the Demon #7 (which is a book I don't normally get).

I get about 15 or so comics a month. I'm following IC pretty closely.
