I'm suprised no one is talking about it. I just downloaded it yesterday and its really good. In case you haven't seen it they use the first issue for the pilot. The only thing I didn't like about it was it looked like there's going to be some recurring agents.

No, but I wish I could find a place to get my hands on it. :D

I was searching some bit torrent files for something else and found it by mistake. Google for some torrent sites and you should find it pretty easily.

Essentially it's an adaptation of the first issue. Pretty sweet, I can't imagine Fox being dumb enough to not pick it up, but then these are the people who killed Firefly after all. :^)

Could you PM me with which torrent site you used to find it?

I expected this thread two or three weeks ago when it originally appeared! I have it, but I haven't watched it yet...

Warren Ellis mentioned this at the time they were originally making it. The TV people wanted to do that to give a bit of continuity between episodes. IIRC, he was happy with that change

I need a password to unlock and play the thing... a password that I don't have :(

I really enjoyed the pilot, it even made me like Josh Hopkins, and I usually don't because he seems to play the heel in the roles I've seen him in recently (North Shore, Cold Case).

I did see it and thought it was a fairly successful adaptation. What I particularly liked was despite the differences between the pilot and the first issue it is based on - they kept in the Soviet agent's final line, which was always my favourite.

The obvious X-Files structure established by the end doesn't sting as much as I thought it would, with the Scully character training in our male hero with a propensity for violence (this is what he explains as his skill ;) ).

And the Aleph scenes were she contacts agents across the Frequency are excellent.

I just watched this on the weekend. Loved it. How the hell did it not get picked up?

Yet again it is proven fact that anything I enjoy, apparently no one else does.
I just finished watching this, and loved the hell out of it. Having a static X song as background music helped as well.
I almost wish I didn't watch it, because now i want more. I've decided I must show this to as many people as possible to show what a bunch of wanks those in charge at the WB must be. I'd love to know what they didn't like about it. Would seem to fit in with their Buffy/Angel/Smallville/Roswell formula.
I've ripped it to my PSP's memory stick and can now take it everywhere.
Good news is that apparently people are sniffing around two other of Ellis' works. This semed like a good shot though.
oh well.

I finally watched it this weekend. I quite enjoyed it, but just Aleph was just about the only cast member who didn't irritate me.

That said, I would be back for the 2nd episode

I saw the pilot and i thought it was pretty good. I'm surprised this show wasn't picked up. IMO it should be. Global Frequency is just perfectly designed to be a great TV show

I know I'm very late to the party but I did finally see this a few days ago.
I hadnt even heard of let alone read GF until earlier this year.
GF is a really good limited series and I cant imagine why the networks didnt pick up the show.
There are a lot of similar shows and I think GF would have had a great following.

It was pretty good. I'd hate for them to reuse the same agents though, that really defeats the purpose of the series.

I wish there was more issues of the comic. I think it is one of Warren Ellis better series and along with some of the stand alone issues of Planetary should be given to many modern comic writers as examples of how to put together a good single issue story.

Of course my favorite Warren Ellis comics seem to be the ones that don't end up long runs, as I wish there was a hundred issues of Fell and Desolation Jones too.

Looks like they might be giving this another go.

I liked the original pilot.

I hope the series actually gets greenlit this time and we dont just get another unaired pilot.
