I originally saw this (http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2916) at another board. If these rejects got together and fought the Justice League or the Avengers, they'd either get their asses handed to them, or their oppenents would laugh themselves to death :p

Although I have to say I would totally wear those outfits.

Laughed at, probably. Asses handed to them, not easily. Numinus is a cosmic-level entity that can tap into the power of the universe and gain nearly immeasurable strength, Adam Warlock (even without the soul gem) is no slouch being able to tap into cosmic energy for various effects (super-strength, flight, concussive blasts), After Aquarian's exposure to the Cosmic Cube, his body generates a null field that can cancel out energy within its radius (making any energy manipulation or superhuman strength useless), and Oracle is a pretty powerful telepath. Funny looks or not, just those four working together would be a tough group to deal with.

And I can't believe they put that much effort into picking on a Howard the Duck villain that's a parody of Dr. Doom. Come on, he's supposed to look funny.

:D

He was supposed to be the retarded jack ass brother of Longshot who really had no sense of style.

1. The Mask

( as Manslaughter)

When I started with the Defenders I wanted a mask. Because well...I was emberssed . I mean...not the X-Men or Avengers ? Or hell...Powerman & Iron Fist ?

My mask conveys my sense of style. Notice how I have a hole in it ? Well I have a stigmatism in my right eye so I cut a hole in it and covered my left side with the mask. I suppose you assholes are wonderin...why do this when I can cover my right eye, sans hole . Well....I did pick Manslaughter as a name.

2. My bookbag

My momma always told me to make sure I always took my lunch when I went to school. What better way to eat when hopping dimensions or galaxies ? I don't see Angel or Beast packin a good lunch and carrying thier lunch box do you ?

3.Boots and Star

My pretty boots are styled after the brillant Robin Hood film with Errol Flynn. He is such a good hero and I loved his sense of style ! Then look at my star with a ribbon.

Longshot ( that dirty s.o.b) stole my idea of wearin a star on my jacket. So I trumped him and wore one witha ribbon. Its why I ...have a sense of style and many people in the Marvel Universe don't !

You think Tony Stark is as daring visually as me ? Hell no...or Captain America ?

Oh, and I would like people not to promote Something Awful. They once suggested I should be shot for being gay after randomly picking my personal homepage for their "geocities massacre."

Not to reopen old wounds, but: "Someone needs to be shot and it isn't me. Hey, nice gaying there gayee." ...Did your homepage mention specifically that you were gay in 2001? Because I don't see it now. Might've been a case of, "Dude, you're so gay!" "So?" "Oh, uh... I guess you didn't need me to point that out, then."

Regardless, as a longtime reader of Something Awful, I think it might be a mistake to intertwine those two sentences. The feature in question (http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=812) makes a lot of comments about design skills (or lack thereof) used in creating the linked Geocities pages. And a lot of these are melodramatic for comedic effect:

John Teeple, from hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.
It's so cute I want to gut myself and set fire to my entrails.
Someone please just feed me into a wood chipper.

I mean, you're welcome to believe that Zack was calling for your blood due to a frenzy of homophobia... but I don't think (a) he was even remotely serious, and (b) he was alluding to anything other than the site design in the first sentence.

" Check , Wonder Chick , ...He comes on but strong! "

Ding Dong Daddy appears in the Teen Titans animated series as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil. He appears in the episode "Revved Up" where he steals Robin's most prized possession and challenges Robin and the Titans to race, winner take all. He has a pit crew of gremlins that follows him around on what is essentially a giant rolling pitstop, repairing his own vehicle and sabotaging the T-car. He also uses a device that disables Starfire and Raven's flight power. Besides racing the Titans, he ends up racing against Red X, Dr. Light, Johnny Rancid, Mumbo, Kitten and Fang, Puppet King, Mad Mod, Gizmo, and Control Freak. Red X disabled the other cars allowing Robin to beat Ding Dong Daddy and win back his prized possession. Inside the Brotherhood of Evil base, he is in the charge against the 5 titans that escaped the Brotherhood (Beast Boy, Pantha, the Herald, Más and Jericho). He rides his car at them, but Kole and Gnaark arrive and destroy it and he is sent flying. He was later frozen, and seemingly upside-down to boot. Ding Dong Daddy is played by David Johansen.

There was some potential in the 1980s Black Canary look; swap the boots out for some that didn't have such a huge cuff(?) and lose the headband, and there's a solid-looking outfit. I think I'm a sucker for the outfit 'cause it makes me think of the officers' uniforms used by the Principality of Zeon in the Universal Century Mobile Suit Gundam series. That being said, my far-and-away favorite look for our dear Canary is seen here (http://www.canarynoir.com/index.php?page=galleries&gallery=bcbop&sort=7). Second best is seen here (http://www.canarynoir.com/index.php?page=galleries&gallery=bcbop&sort=13).

My worst list:

Old Nightwing (The one with the huge collar)

Current Power Girl (Her costume has so much crap on it :) )

Current Supergirl (Short skirt for someone who flies, genius! And then you show off your legs and your midsection......but wear sleeves?)

Iron Fist (Bare chest? Giant collar? SLIPPERS? Update, please!)

Also I like Spider-Woman's costume, but don't like how it is drawn.

Am I crazy for liking some of the costumes that traditionally get slammed? Electric Blue Superman, for example, was kind of cool. I also liked fully-armored Azrael-Batman and I didn't even mind armored Daredevil... Sacrilege!

The worst has to be Nightwings first costume. His current one is pretty cool, but that disco thing he wore was awful.

Current Supergirl (Short skirt for someone who flies, genius! And then you show off your legs and your midsection......but wear sleeves?)Most of these I can get, but this one surprised me. Short skirt and flying goes well with some tight shorts or bikini bottoms. It's not like she goes commando. Short skirt, show some belly, wear sleeves...I see this all the time. It's a style thing.

Those aren't the best examples, but they do make clear there ain't no tight shorts or bikini bottoms under there. In some of the more ridiculous panels from the comic, you can also tell she shaves.

And, no, there are no panels in the comics that make it clear that she shaves. Just want to save anyone the trouble of searching through 10 issues trying to find that elusive crotch shot. It doesn't exist.

I still say the worst costumes on a "superhero" ever never made it into print. they are running around in City of Heroes and scaring the daylights out of honest super powered citizens. Or at least those with any taste.

I swear, sometimes, I've so wanted to grab someone and do Queer eye right then and there.

Of course, I'd need a dress sense to do that. I don't have taste or dress sense. I do, however, have a sense of self preservation that would kick in long before I wore something akin to the costumes many seem to be running around with.

I think some of "the worst" costumes have actually been really good, storywise. For example, Wondergirl's original disguise is frequently mocked, but it was exactly the kind of costume a teenaged girl might come up with if she were working with easily available materials and were looking for some protection. Remember, originally she didn't have much more than flight and the strength of 10 strong men, or something like that. So she was tough, but not invulnerable.

Wearing knee and elbow pads and flight goggles made terrific sense at the time.

Also, the New Mutants' standard uniform was clearly not supposed to be all that 'hot' or intimidating or... whatever. But by putting aside their individual 'look' costumewise, everyone's strong personalities, different actual looks and, yes, powers, really shone through. And frankly, no one who read the New Mutants missed that they were interesting, or that most of them were good looking and/or had attractive personalities. But they did that without objectifying characters, but merely making them (and the stories told about them) interesting.

Which was cool.

Wow that looks like Dazzler from the 80’s only a lot worse, I have to confess I actually liked Dazzler’s 80’s look though.

The one that really got me laughing though was Dr. Bong (http://www.somethingawful.com/d/fashion-swat/comic-swat.php?page=2), hell the name and the concept gets me laughing, I can't stop laughing evertime I look at that picture.

Also, I have to say I hated Diana’s biker costume. Say what you want about her running around in a bathing suit, the biker costume made her look like a street walker, and not a very sexy one.

I actually dig Dr. Fate's costume. There's something very classic about it. You've got the gaudy color, the unique helmet, the yellow underoos worn on the outside. To me, that's pretty keen.

But the half-helmet Dr. Fate costume, that one was lame.

I strongly disagree with your inclusion of Dr. Fate's costume here. For as long as I've been into comics, it has been one of my all-time favorite costumes. That helmet is a really cool design and I'd love to see the DC Direct helmet prop that has been in production for a long time.

Now, if you want to nominate the "costume" Jared Stevens wore in the 1990's as Fate, then feel free.
