A quick google search turned up this site (http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/timeline.jsp?timeline=complete_911_timeline_counte rterrorism_before_9/11&geopolitics_and_9/11=saudis) which rather uniquely lists the original sources for each story. It lists 2 sources for that story, search the page for "larry mitchell".

Actually, the date should have read July 12, 2001. It was originally reported in LE FIGARO in October, 2001.
