Yes, I do it all in Window's Paint on my laptop. I don't have a scanner to put my real drawings in to color, so I've been using paint until I get one. It's easy when I use my finger to draw it on the computer, because I'm not using a traditional mouse. So, it's sorta close to my real drawings, but not quite. My uncle gave me a scanner recently, but it doesn't work.....so now I just have to wait until I get enough funds....after House of M is over with of course....to get my scanner. And I will post a pic of Mags a little later....all done in WP. So now you know... ;) ...oh and props to Matt

So your mouse is a touch pad basically? Its hard for me drawing with any of them. But the touch pad mouse works great, well kinda. And GREAT picture of Magneto.

I figure it's only a matter of time before Marvel comes up with a title featuring a modern era teenage Magneto. So I'm getting ym costume design in early.

It's based on the pure black inked body designs of Alex Ross, with black/red/silver replacing his usual red/purple costume.

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3714/magnetonew.jpg

The source art is pencilled by Jim Lee, the head is from the cover of X-Men 2 and the body is from somewhere in that story.

I wanted to give him a dynamic look without losing any of his majesty.

Most new comers think that Magneto is Ian McKellen's age, but the fact is Magneto is no older than 40 in the comics thanks to his de-aging to infancy and later being restored to his prime.

I didn't give him an X on the metal-armor-belt thing (which Jim Lee made look very cool in my opinion) because he will never be a true X-Man, but I gave him an X on his heart symbolic of their alliance and also symbolic of all the suffering he has been through in his life.

Let me know what you guys think about the design.

I'll do more characters if I can, and definitely with the same color scheme and the pure ink black body that I love.

Are you kidding me? The whole reason I wanted to share these was the influence of "draw me an X..." thread on THIS board (x-books). And this isn't even fan art like the ones posted in those threads, it's alterations of drawings from actual comics. Move this thread back to the X-Books forum please.

I agree with justinkos91. The color scheme looks great. I love that blood red on top of the pitch black, but the bare arms kind of takes away from the regalness. If he had sleeves that would be really tight. While I also love the idea of Magneto hangin out with the X-Men or even leading a team of them, but I dont ever really see him sporting the symbol like the rest of them. Great stuff though.

The colours are great, and I really like the bare arms. It doesn't detract anything for more, but shows that whilst having a great power, he he also a physical dominance and leadership about him that would make him stand out against a regular person. I really like it - nice work!

I had been meaning to upload some more art recently, but I’ve been working on two specific pieces for my brother, and just got behind. So, anyways, here’s one of those pieces.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_w9erRRw0aow/S_IpkhiTigI/AAAAAAAAAtI/pToIfMequPo/s320/Magneto+1,+Magnetic+Tempest.jpg
After a few warm-up sketches, I decided to try out this version of the picture. I started and finished it at work, both on and off break. The idea was supposed to be Magneto laying waste to a number of anti aircraft weaponry. Ultimately, I was unhappy with it, and started again from scratch.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_w9erRRw0aow/S_IpoBv28jI/AAAAAAAAAtQ/1lAqyFCtWns/s320/Magneto+2,+Magnetic+Tempest.jpg
I have no idea what the incentive for this pic was, but I liked it more than the first. I started it at home before work, and did a little everyday until I finally finished it at work. Afterwards, I tried to start on the second pic my brother requested, but I’m having the same problems as before, artist block. So, I decided to go ahead and color what I had.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_w9erRRw0aow/S_IppN9tSfI/AAAAAAAAAtY/lJjFzi17r60/s320/Magneto+3,+Magnetic+Tempest.jpg
And this is the final version. I actually finished it around 11:27 p.m. Monday. I had been trying to upload it, but my internet keeps going on & off. It’s holding pretty steady right now, but I’ll be changing ISPs to correct that problem permanently.
