This is meant to counterbalance the worst of Spider-Man poll. The options are based on polls I've noticed on this board, and stories that I assume most people here have read (if you haven't, get to it man! I'd consider all the options recommended reading.)

My choice....Amazing Spider-Man #121-122 "Turning Point"-
This story has an incredible amount of suspense, two of the best death scenes in comics, great battles between Spider-Man, and the Green Goblin, the perfect portrayal of an angry driven Spider-Man, and it perfectly sets up the relationship between Peter & MJ, and Harry's role as an enemy of Spider-Man.

Death of Jean DeWolfe

This poll is a lot harder than the worst stories. Each of the issues you listed is a personal favourite. In the end, I voted for Kraven's Last Hunt, although the death of Jean DeWolfe is a close second.

All right. Who said other? I wanna know what it is.

Jean Dewolfe was a police lieutenant who helped out Spider-Man in a few stories. She was killed off in the fifth issue of Peter David's run on Spectacular Spider-Man, a great murder mystery story he's still famous for. If you have thirty bucks, I really recommend you pick up Wizard's Spider-Man Masterpieces Hardcover TPB which includes this story, the first return of Venom (which is currently the favorite Venom story on the favorite Venom stories thread), Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut, the Kid Who Collected Spider-Man, and a really funny story with Spider-Man VS. The Cobra, and a mystery foe, in the aftermath of the Juggernaut story.

Heh when I first saw the "Final Chapter" I thought of the 5 issue arc before the reboot and thought: what the hell?

Me.

My favorite story is a tie between Jenkin's Fusion storyline +his follow up with Doc Ock and PP SM #26 when it was told in the perspective of the police. It actually made me shed a tear.

Since then no Spidey story has made me go I CANT WAIT or wtf how will he get out of this? His neck breaking was something I seriously pondered how he would get away from for a whole 30 days.

Wasn't that "The Gathering of Five"?

I'm getting the impression I should have had a different Venom story on the list. I'm also surprised that the Stan Lee- Roger Stern stories only have one vote each. Keep the votes coming.

The Gathering of the Five was a five issue arc which came before "The Final Chapter"

I can't fault you on that. The Fusion story is one of my favorites ever, and I'm really glad other people like it.

Kraven's Last Hunt is one of the best comics stories I've read. Spidey or otherwise. It's also a GREAT example of how a crossover should work.

No choice for "The Clone Saga" from the mid-90s??? This is an outrage! :D

For me, it was either The Kid Who Collected Spider-Man or Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut.

Went with Juggernaut as I feel that story gets to the core of Spidey's character. Clearly outmatched, Spidey struggles to defeat a seemingly unbeatable foe and truimphs because of his brain.

My bad, it's been years.
I remember hating the reboot though, very much.

What? How come "Spider-Man: Unmasked" isn't n the list? (Amazing v1 #39-40)
I go with all of these along with the one I mentioned right here, so I'm sorry for not voting in the poll.

She was a captain actually.
Loved the story, loved the art, deserves to be in my treasury list and have 5/5 for each issue.
I loved the Bar Fight with Matt Murdock.
Bar Tender was happy finally someone didn't throw the one he was fighting out of the new window. Matt leaves the Bar while the bar owner expresses his emotion and all of a sudden Spider-Man comes in the bar through the window before the bar owner completes what he was saying.

Of those listed Kraven's Last Hunt.

But my favorite is a single issue and its one little panel that makes it so. It was the silent issue a few years back not long after Aunt May discovered Peter was Spiderman. The scene where she is checking off her to do list and one of the items says something to the effect of "Keep trying to forgive Peter" was very very great and is perhaps one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a comic.

But I must ask, how did a 3 year old thread get bumped?
