I agree about the JLU. The last ten episodes have been very exciting. The Superman Cap Marvel fight was the best ever. The Question was cool. Amanda Waller has been so interesting. Hawkgirl is perfect. Every charachter has been just right.

Dwayne McDuffie always left me cold but I have to say his work here has been great.

I have been watching the episodes on Cartoon Network. Are they done first for the WB?

It's that overarcing plot that I really love, but I also appreciate that the animators are taking cues from anime while maintaining the Timm-oriented "DC animated style". The epic scenes really feel epic, and speaking as an animator, much of the action is really well-done. Of course, given that much of it is animated in Korea (I think), perhaps that's more the result of delegation of duties... I don't know if Americans do any of the boards or keying anymore.

I'm envious of you stinkin' Canadians for being four episodes ahead of us. Damn you, Canadia!!!! Damn you and your less-embarassing government and your subsidized, prroperly-appreciated animation industry!!

No they premiere first on CN. Which is kinda weird cause Teen Titans is on both channels while I think that someone without cable has never gotten the chance to see JLU on tv. Seems that WB is avoiding anything more mature than Pokemon or Shao Lin temple or whatever that stuff is.

Canada subsidizes animation???

Yep. That's why there are so many independant productions and short films that emerge from there.

Would it help if I said I didn't take advantage of this because I don't watch TV? :p

Personally I've never watched JLU myself, but with this reccommendation I may have to look into it...that is if I get around to it looking at all the movie recommendations I fail to follow-up on. (I'm notoriously lazy when it comes to making the effort to watch...anything involving the use of a television.)

That said "WOO" for our less embarassing government!
