View Full Version : Heroes who haven't fought the Hulk (yet)

Name some Marvel heroes that haven't fought the Hulk yet.

It's not easy. All the mainstream heroes have fought Hulk at least once. Any hero that had a monthly title for at least a year generally had a Hulk-fighting issue, including Omega the Unknown. Hulk went through a lengthy phase where he fought a lot of obscure heroes, including Texas Twister, Sabra, and 3D-Man. During the Day of the Defenders, he went a little berserk and fought a whole bunch of obscure heroes, including Jack of Hearts and Torpedo.

Longshot never did. Nor have any of the original New Mutants except Wolfsbane, I don't think.

I don't think Shang-Chi or the Power Pack ever fought him.

Everyone else I've brainstormed has, though. Especially all the heavy hitters?

Did Gladiator ever battle the Hulk?

I'd say the Sentry, on a technicality, because whenever he turns up the Hulk calms down so they never actually fought.

I know the Punisher once used the Hulk to beat up Spider-man, Daredevil and Wolverine, but I can't remember if they actually thought. (Eh, he slapped Banner around anyway...).

have never fought the Hulk to my knowledge.

Example:Arana,The Runaways,Gravity,etc....

The Punisher fought the hulk in Hulk 395.

Black Bolt and the Inhumans fought the Hulk more than once , Black Bolt is probably one of the few beings alive capable of beating the hulk.

As far as the strong guys in the marvel universe are concerned , i don't recall Colossus ever fighting the hulk.
Did Captain Britain ever fought the hulk ? I remember him punching a alternate version of the hulk but has he ever fought the real thing ?

I don't know if you could really call that meeting between the Punisher and the Hulk a "fight." It was more of an ass-handing. :D

Hulk has fought Wolvie, Cable, Storm, Polaris, and Havok directly over the years. Wolvie a number of times. Cable and Storm during the Onslaught saga. Polaris and Havok when he was Prof Hulk and they were part of X Factor.

But yeah, there are plenty of X folk who have never had the privilege of getting their asses kicked by the Hulk.

Not that I know of, but Hulk has fought the Red Norvell version of Thor.

He fought Hal in Unlimited Access.

I'm pretty sure Hulk hasn't fought Blade, SuperPro, the Great Lakes Avengers, or Adam Warlock.

In the 70's (or was it early 80's?) Nova series, Nova fought a Hulk robot. But that's all I can recall.

And Apocalypse has "kinda" fought the Hulk twice. The first time he went up against a psychic clone of the Hulk alongside Cable, back during Onslaught. The second time, he turned the Hulk into his Horseman of War, but I'm not sure if the two actually fought in that story.

I think that the reason the Hulk stopped was because he felt real bad for Daredevil.

That seemed to be DD's special power when battling high-powered characters -- getting his ass handed to him, but never giving up. See also his classic fight with Namor.

Dazzler fought the Hulk in her own title, first year of the series.
Spider-Woman I AND II briefly faced off against the Hulk--Jessica was trying to solve a mystery and accidentally set off Bruce in a one-shot issue of MARVEL TEAM-UP. Julia tried to hold a mind-controlled Hulk in one of her psi-webs in SECRET WARS I and received a helluva headache for her efforts :eek:

Hulk and Spider Woman also teamed up with (I can't remember who, actually, perhaps Capt America and one other hero)... in a 7/11 Stores one shot against the Rhino, the Wizard, and two other villains I can't remember.
This was in the early 80's, so that is why my memory is so freakin' bad.

Thing has fought the Hulk on several occasions. I think that he usually loses, even at one point when (pineapple) Thing was actually stronger than (gray) Hulk.

That's pretty lame, a streetlamp should just crumple against the Hulk and if it did manage to impale him, somehow, it shouldn't really bother him too much.

Luke Cage?


Luke Cage is nowhere near the strength class of Hulk. The hulk bitch slap him across the city through several buildings in Incredible Hulk 300 and KO him.

Luke Cage isn't even in the strength level of Thing or Wonder man .In an old issue of marvel two in one , Thing and Cage fought and Thing have Cage running scared and Cage had to resort to dirty tricks when he fought with Wonder man in his own series.

This was the time when the Hulk was very weak after Heroes reborn and onslaught because he doesn't have Banner within him anymore.

They fought twice as Grey Hulk and Pineapple Thing.
The first fight Thing overwhelmed Hulk with his supperior strength, the other time Hulk fought smart and beat up the Thing.

Yes, Hulk met Howard in the pages of The Defenders (one of those Giant Issues, I think. To quote Hulk, "Hulk like little duck!"
Obviously , they didn't fight, but it was a cool story.

Pineapple Thing?There was a time in the 90s that the Thing underwent a transformation that gave him even greater strength. In this form, his rocky skin was even spikier and many refer to this form as the Pineapple Thing.

At this time, the Hulk was in his smaller Grey form, so when they fought, for the first time ever, the Thing was stronger than the Hulk and had the size advantage.

Actually that was in the late 80's/early 90s during the Steve Englehart run. For some reason Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman joined the Avengers, leaving Thing in charge of the FF, which had the Human Torch, Crystal (Who had been part of the team in the past) and also a "She-thing"-the second Mrs. Marvel-mutated in the same accident that gave the Thing his Pineapple appearence.
Eventually this wore off and The Thing became human for a while. However, towards the end of his run Walt Simonson brought back this Thing for a brief time before returning him to his regular appearence in time for Tom Defalco's run on the title.
