Forums server fixed? Maybe!

Hey Kids,

Today I moved the CBR ad server off of Krypto, the name for the server that has up till now housed both the CBR Forums and CBR Ad Server. I moved the ad server off Lois (the server which the main CBR site is located on) to Krypto about two months ago. As traffic was building, Krypto apparently couldn't handle the load. We tried optimizing configuration files, adding new memory with no luck and other things, but still Krypto was having a lot of trouble handling the load. So, as I mentioned, today I moved the CBR Ad Server off Krypto and onto a machine that wasn't being used called Lana.

What this means is the load of Krypto will be greatly diminished and hopefully that will be the end of the problems the forums have been experiencing for a number of weeks now. If anyone should notice a problem with the forums, please drop me an e-mail so that I can attend to it as quickly as possible. With the Ad Server no longer on Krypto, I'm guessing things should operate smoothly.

The forums suddenly got way, way slow at around 10:25 pm tonite (central time), give or take a couple minutes, until about 10:45 (just now).

EDIT: and then a couple minutes later, they got real, real slow to respond again.
