I absolutely loved Batman Begins. I thought there was some average dialogue and some scenes that just didn't work (the scarecrow-style batman face; the kiss at the end), but generally, it was a great and fluent movie.

Anyway - watching this film has motivated me to get "into" graphic novels. However, I have got no idea where to start because the BATMAN universe is so vast.

Has anyone got some ideas on what series to read first? Or any general advice on reading the novels?

All help appreciated. Thanks for reading my first ever post

There's a sticky thread at the top called "The Batman TPB List." All your answers are there.

But now that we're here, I'd say two great TPB's you'd like are Long Halloween and it's sequel Dark Victory. They're nice and chunky, so to take you a while :D
