A little make-up match. Please read both strategies before you vote.

Sagroth- Graviton, Integer, Black Bolt, Captain Marvel, King Bedlam, Surge IV, Brutacus, Lockheed

Dipset Byrd Gang- Mr. Fantastic, Hyperstorm, Jolt, Mr. Sinister, Speedball, Super-Skrull, Super Sabre, Dark Beast, Howard The Duck, Arcade, J.J. Jameson

Here is Sagroth's strategy:

-My team’s first move is to put up their shields(photonic from Mar-vell, gravity from Graviton, magic from Brutacus, and psionic defenses from Integer, supported by psionic static via Bedlam). Additionally, Graviton gives all my team members the power of flight(although Surge will stay groundbound initially).

-Surge will move to counter any speedblitz by Super Sabre(if use his Mach-1 punch at a distance, she will attempt to dodge, and she will zap him if he goes in for close range).

-First they will focus on Hyperstorm. He controls gravity, magnetism, weak nuclear force, & strong nuclear force, so a many-pronged attack is necessary. Graviton lashes out with his gravity powers, Black Bolt with his electron-manipulating abilities(or a scream capable of killing a Celestial). Hyperstorm may be able to match these, but I also attack with some things he isn’t capable of handling: magic from Brutacus, and a combined psionic assault from Integer and King Bedlam. Captain Marvel may even shoot some photon bolts if needed. If Mr. Sinister tries to protect Hyperstorm psionically, he is attacked as well. From this combined assault, Hyperstorm should fall.

-Super Skrull and Mr. Sinister are the next biggest threats. Super Skrull’s invisibility won’t help him here, as graviton doesn’t need to see to sense him. Any of Mr. Sinister’s psionic attacks are deflected by Integer and Bedlam, and his power bolts cannot penetrate the team’s shields(same for Skrull’s flame). Sinister can’t be hurt, so incapacitation is the key. Graviton drops many tons of building and rubble on him, compresses it into an ultra-tight ball then opens up the ground to swallow him. If that fails, Brutacus will take him out with magic, against which he has no defense.

-Skrull, (invisible or no) will have a vacuum by Graviton extinguish his flame(no more flying), and be either crushed by Graviton or taken out by Captain Marvel(who now has the high ground). Or, Bolt could nail him with his powers, Brutacus could attack him(he stalemated the Thing, has magic, and can currently fly), or Bedlam could scramble his mind, making him shapeshift into a formless blob.

-Without preptime and without equipment, Reed Richards isn’t as dangerous. Graviton ties him into knots, Bolt turns him into stone, or Surge speedblitzes and shocks him.(Any attempts to teleport him out of the arena to get weapons will be forseen by Mar-vell & countered by Graviton). Any attempts at clever thinking will be disrupted by Bedlam’s psionic static.

Super Sabre is next. Graviton tears up the arena streets and makes the ground liquid, while also increasing the gravity in the area(except for around Surge, who will now start flying). This should slow Sabre down enough for someone to zap him. Or Graviton could simply crush him.(same could also work for all the rest save for Speedball and possibly Jolt).

Depending on whether or not Jolt is in her human incarnation or pure energy one, my strategy will differ. Human, she is easily dealt with by Captain Marvel, or even Surge(who can now return to the ground). Energy form, Surge will keep her distance, and let Brutacus use magic. Or, for both forms, Black Bolt can take her out. Jolt is powered by electricity, which is moving electrons. Even easier than the ionic control/shutdown of Simon in the last strategy. Jolt is either rendered powerless, or disperses.

Graviton does with Speedball what he did with Meteorite of the Redeemers in Thunderbolts, only with a twist(since there are no ringouts). Speedball becomes a Graviton-controlled projectile, bouncing off and taking out Arcade, JJ, Howard the Duck, and likely the Dark Beast. Integer and Bedlam then shut his mind down. Or, Graviton can do the same to him as he did to Sinister.

If any of these still stand: Dark Beast, Arcade, JJ, and Howard the Duck, I can have Brutacus take them out with magic or other abilities(he easily Beast’s superior in strength and agility), have Mar-vell blast them from above, have Surge speedblitz, or Graviton drops a building on them.

Dipset Byrd Gang's strategy:

Major Threats

Blackbolt, Gravitron, Cap MArvel and Interger

Phase 1

Hyperstorm puts everyone in force shoeld so they will not be hit by suprise early. He knows Gravitron and Blackbolt are the real heavyweights on the team. SO he traps both of them in force bubbles to contain them for a while. He knoiws that Gravitron will be the hardest to control. He also tells Super Sabre to take out Surge wit hhis superior speed. Super Sabre runs at his top speed to KO Surge wit ha barrage of punches. Hyperstorm starts slamming gravitron and Blackbolts force bubbles together to soften them up.
He lets them out of the force bubble and the Speedball starts to bounce around Blackbolt real fast and Reed Richards wraps his whole body around Gravitron suffocated him while he is dizzy. Mr. Sinister, Super Skrull, JJJ, Howard the Duck, Dark Beast, Arcade And Jolt keep the rest of the team busy. While Reed Is suffocating Gravitron, Hyperstorm stops the iron in the blood of Gravitron to put him out the battle as he falls to the floor. Speed ball gets closer to blackbolt while he is bouncing around and puts Blackbolt and Speedball in a force bubble. Speedball is now in a contained space and he overpowering Blackbolt with his kinitec energy. Speedball passes ot as he is hit wit hthe barrage of kinetic energy. Super Skrull, Jolt and Arcade are keeping Cap Marvel busy. JOlt blasts him with bio electricity and Super Skrull traps him in a ball of fire. Arcade is just talking crap to him and taunting him. Hyperstorm steps in and puts a force bubble around Cap Marvel. This gives him time to drain him of his photonic energy. He is out the battle. Hyperstorm says he is no longer needed for this battle.

Phase 2

Now only stands the weaker opponents. Mr. Sinister attacks Integer. HE knows he will try and shut his mind down. As soon as he tries this, Sinister is given the opening he needs to shut down interger's mind instead. Interger is out the battle. Howard the Duxk breaks out his Quack fu on Lockheed and gives him a round house kick followed by a chop to the neck as he goes down hard. JJJ and Super Sabre attack Bruticus. Super Sabre runs real fast and throws JJJ behind Bruticus. JJ lands on his back and starts to cover his eyes. Super Sabre is causing whirlwinds. Causing Bruticus to get dizzy. He starts staggering. Super Skrull comes out of nowhere and hits him wit ha Thing fist as Bruticus is taking out the battle. All is left is Jesse Bedlam. Jolt shocks him wit hher blasts followed by a blast from Sinister. He is now dazed. Super Sabre grabs him and throws him in the air. Howard the Duck quack fu his ass and Dark beast catches him and breaks his neck.

Big Pinping Hustlas win the battle

I had to give it to Sagroth. His strategy was better layed out, but it was close.

Thanks Nightcrawler for letting the battle go on. ANd Sargoth good ass strategy I liked how you took out Hyperstorm and how you thought of teleporting Reed out to get weapons and how you countered it. That was very good. If I lose no prob, This all fun to me and Nightcrawler I willl how my next strategy up in the next day or two so no delays. I need to really do some research.

Thanks for the compliments, Dipset Byrd Gang. From your past strategy, I knew I had to take your team's Hyperstorm VERY seriously, or get my butt whupped. It's my pleasure to have this battle with you.

And I agree with your sentiment on winning: for myself, I'm in it for the chance to match my wits against as many people as possible(which is part of the reason I pressed so hard for us to duel instead of claiming a win by default; the other, of course, is that I recognize that things can happen beyond our ability to control, and didn't want you to get the shaft). Whatever the outcome, I wish you luck in your future battles. ;)

both really good stratgies but i voted for Sagroth because his plan was better organized and easier to follow, and his first few steps pretty much locked the match, i also think hyperstorm could have been used slighty stronger

If I have some time after getting home from work this evening, I'll try and post some more about how Dipset's and my own strategies deal with one-another. In the meantime, I'd love to see some votes, and opinions on both strategies.

Imagining Howard the Duck whoop Lockheed's ass was enough for me. Great work both of you. :D

Nice job guys :)

You both had high quality strategies.

I have to decide who to vote for now.

I liked how Sagroth predicted Super Sabre attacking Surge, and I liked Dipsit Byrd Gang's use of Arcade taunting Captain Marvel (as well as his use of Howard the Duck's Quack Fu).

I started re-reading the strategies, and Sagroth seems to be using Graviton a whole awful lot. I'm not sure yet. I'll have to think this out, whilst I type my own strategy for tomorrow's game.

In defense of the usage of Graviton, my previous battle strategy made note of his capability of multitasking. Additionally, I would point out that Dipset's own strategy relies an awful lot on Hyperstorm, which I did predict.

You're correct. I voted for you, but it was a great fight by both teams. DBG did a wonderful job in such a short amount of time, and the humor was greatly appreciated.

Went with Sagroth on this one. But I was torn for a while. It boiled down to the heavy hitter battle and I think Sagroth used his just a little bit better. But it was really close.
