Not a fight, but more of a question.

Why is it, when Doctor Strange sends himself into the astral plane that he has everything? I mean, his cape, the eye, his cloths, everything he has on his normal self, he actually takes with him into the astral plane.

Xavier however, is almost always "naked." He has to make things for himself (armor, weapons, clothes, ect) with his own powers.

Case in point: In several Dr. Strange comics, Doc would go after Mordu (who was also fully clothed!) in the astral plane, and he'd have everything with him, cape, eye, ect.

Over in X-men, Xavier battled Shadow King and both were "naked" until they started doing battle and creating weapons and such for themselves.

Does anyone understand all this? Is there a meaning or just inconsistant writing? I always thought this was a bit odd.

It's just the difference in how they see themselves in the Astral Plane. Dr. Strnage has a very tight self image, Xavier tends to think more along the lines of him being a being of pure thought and mind. Xavier can do things there that he can't do in real life, so why would he tie his form to his real body?

I think that it is all based on the fact that the kit Strange wears is mystical by nature and is usually based on magic created by transdimensional beings. This means that when he operates in different dimensions he can bring all his stuff. With Xavier it's mainly his will power that lets him enter the Astral Plane, so when he goes there he has to create things because his powers are based on regular stuff.
I hope this clears this up, but as I'm not an expert on either charecter it might be absolute nonsense.

Okay, now that they're both in the astral plane...who would win in a steel-cage death match? No prep.

I'm thinking Stephen, cuz its pretty much his realm, while Chuck just passes thru once in a while.

Stephen 8/10.

The above two posts are both right-on, but let me also say that Dr. Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme. Prof. X is well-trained mutant. Dr. Strange is one of the most powerful figures in the marvel universe. Prof. X is just a well trained mutant.

Why is it his realm? If it's anyone's realm it would be Shadow King's.

Which makes me think. Has Dr S ever faced off with the Shadow King?

But Xavier's access to the astral plane is a natural ability. Dr. S is not, Dr S uses incantation and whatever to help him into it. Xavier should have more control over an event taking place within it.

Whenever you notice something like that, a wizard did it.

We know a wizard did it. Where just trying to figure out how and why Dr. Strnage is doing it.

Strange also has access to the Eye & Orb of Agamotto in astral form. Whereas, Xavier just has his natural mutant telepathy.
