There was a recent interview in Entertainment Weekly that featured Thomas Haden Church. A link to it-www.comicbookmovie.com
EW: After reminding the world he could really act in Sideways, the Oscar nominee will play an undisclosed, top secret villain in 2007's Spider-Man 3. How about a hint?
THC: He's a horse of many colors
EW: There are horses in Spider-Man?
THC: Let's just say he's an amorphous collection of protons, electrons, and neutrons, of different colors.
Well there you go. Any idea who he might be talking about?

how is it Sandman. I always thought sand had one color. Baige. :p
No just kidding. I know not to take that hint in a litteral sense. But maybe that's what he's hoping for. That we'd be fooled into thinking that that hint is incredibly vague and ment to throw us off. Or that really COULD be a litteral hint. Who knows?

Yeah, he's not lying, but at the same time he's not telling the truth. The bastard. :p

Yeah that's what I figured. Hes a pretty sarcastic guy.
Surprised they didn't interview Topher too.

Maybe that shows that his role isn't as important?? The villain is a pretty major role, so of course they'd interview the actor playing the villain. Interview the director, the star playing the title role. All mandatory interviewees. But they also interviewed in some magazine the actress that played Betty Brant.
What role do you think Topher will play? Or could play?

Yeah she's in a couple movies coming out this summer. The Baxter and The 40 Year Old Virgin both of which look pretty funny to me.

I have no idea. I'm leaning towards Electro or Raimi's version of Eddie Brock. Ned Leeds is a possibility. He definately has a important part in the movie though. He's pretty picky about the roles he chooses so I don't think he'd do Spider-man unless he had a good part.

Personally I think Mysterio is awesome. I can get the crazy psychedelic Spider-man movie I've always wanted.

I just donīt think heīs a big enough Spidey-villain for the movie series.
At least not alone.

Well given that amorphous means having no fixed form or shape plus the protons, neutrons, and electrons clue, I'm going to have to say that the villian is ZZZAX (http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/z/zzzax.htm)

Rainbow Raider HA :D
Yeah, I could never see Mysterio by himself in a Spidey movie. He'd be perfect for as a partner villain.
But if Church IS being sincere with this interview, then anamorphus, meaning what it means, I'd go with Venom again. I mean, other than Chameleon, which will NOT happen. Who else is there.
He could go with Carnage. :p

Bingo. Raimi is the same way. Everything is a joke and a wink with these guys. I kind of like it that way, because they care more about getting the characters right than they do about promoting them. Plus, a sense of humor never killed anyone.
So THC is in the movie for sure?
The Joker

I'm still betting it's Sandman.
Basically because of Raimi's public fondness for the character. Just seems like a safe bet.
Wouldnt mind Mysterio at all (although I highly doubt Church will be playing him). I loved how he was portrayed in the Spider-Man 2 video game, and would love to see him appear in the films at some point.

Dude - it's the Hypno Hustler. :)
Noooo! White men can't hypno hustle, sucka! Think of the soundtrack though...
As for Mysterio, I doubt they will use him in a movie. People complained about the silly HUGE plastic mask covering the Goblin's whole face in the first flick... Imagine a dude with a fishbowl over his head!
I wouldn't trust any public quotes until there's official word or a serious leak. They're all teasing on purpose until then.

I dont know. I liked the way he looked in the Spider-Man 2 videogame. I think it can be translated quite well if CGI is incorporated in some fashion into the big fishbowl.
With lots of that colored smoke of course. :D

I just think Venom would be a villian, before some of the other guys mentioned, despite what Raimi has said about him as a character.

Raimi seems like a classic guy. I'd think he'd stick with classic villians first.
The Joker
06-26-2005, 02:28 PM
Yeah.
Mysterio or Electro has a better chance of showing up than Venom does.
The Big Man, and the Enforcers probably even have a better chance as well.

sorry but if rumors are true mystrio is strictly tied to daredevil 2 following an extremly dark story by kevin smith
I'm not one to listen to rumors (although I truly wish it were true).
Anyway, it ain't Mysterio. And if it was, then they can make a new cool costume... right?
