Is anyone reading this (by Avatar)? How does it compare to the earlier series by Crossgen?

I am, of course.
In terms of quality, it's about the same as the Crossgen version. The art isn't quite as good, but still serviceable. The story pretty much picks up where CG left off.
My personal opinion is that it's the weakest thing he's written at Avatar so far - but then, as a former Chaos fanatic, I would think that.

I haven't read it yet cause I'm waiting till I get all issues of the first story arc (up to #4, I think?), and yeah, I thought the coloring kind of lacked something...(although, I LOVE the wraparound cover to issue #3 that I just picked up)

I've been picking them up but haven't read them yet. Like Randycat, I'll probably wait until the story arc is finished.
Unfortunately, I'll probably be dropping the book after the first arc. IMO, four dollars is simply too much money for a comic book, unless it's an absolute classic story (which MLD wasn't, even at CG).

I'm enjoying the book so far and though it's expensive, I'm sticking with it because I love the character.

Anyone know if this is going over to Devil's Due?

I dropped all of the Pulido series.
Belladonna was really good, so I sticked with it.
Medieval Lady Death was boring and the art is not so good that I would spend $4 on every issue. I loved both CG-series and the art of Reis, Fiorentino and Cheung. But that? Nope.
The Unholy was okay, maybe I'll finish at least that.
The classic LD was a character I never liked and so the #1/2 turned me off because it was boring, too.
And War Angel? That's just dreck. Nicely drawn dreck... but dreck. Can't stand the virtually non-story and the unnatural big boobies.
Anyone know if this is going over to Devil's Due?
Why should it? LD is co-owned by Avatar AFAIK.

I wish they could somehow get Fiorentino back on the title...I think his issues were the best, from the old CG stuff...
I've gotten sick of Avatar's penchant for multiple covers and re-releases of old issues with new covers. Some of their other titles I've ended up with multiple copies of. I'm at the stage where I'm so sick of it, I'm giving up on Lady Death which is sad because I've been a fan since Chaos!'s Evil Ernie days.
It's difficult to gauge just which is the last issue released, especially when pre-ordering three months in advance.

Ya, they really overdo it with the multiple covers...And I don't think they release a lot of their stuff in trades (it would be nice to see a trade with a gallery showing all the multiple covers, since most people I think buy only one). Also, I don't like their price tag....

My wife reads it and so far, she's satisfied, but I kind of gave up on the series toward the end of the CG run and have never been able to get motivated to keep reading.
On a rather funny note, my wife and I stopped at a comic shop over the weekend that used to be one of CG's "premiere" shops. They still have the "CrossGen Comics Sold Here!" sign up in the window, but from what I can tell, every CG comic in the store is in the 50 cent bin.
I guess they are still sold, kinda.
