I just read this story. It was a great story, but depressing. I think I am turning into a Hulk fan, and I started that thread "Why does this board exist?", last week under my other alias. Hulk is more deep then I thought. The inner conflict between Banner and Hulk is awesome. Hulk wouldn't let puny Banner kill himself, and Hulk hates pesky bugs who eat him!!!!! Great story!

That's the difference between Peter David as the writer and everyone else.

Most readers who've never read a "good" Hulk issue assume it's merely about a big Green guy smashing everything.

He's not the Thing or some other blockhead with super strength, he's the Incredible Hulk ;)

When he's written well the focus is on the inner conflict between Hulk and Banner and the tragedy of their life/lives. That's what the book is supposed to be about.

But people seem to think it's amazing, and as such, the price went really far up.

I dunno, that's just how much I've seen it for. Like, last week.

Hulk: The End was one of the best Hulk stories I've read in ten years. Great story! PAD seems to be great at getting into Banner's head.

Tell me about it. That's why he's a great writer, instead of just a good one.We need more like him.

I thought it was well-written, and to see the Hulk finally given what he wanted was great. The roach thing was pretty gross, but I was surprised to see that a bird was still alive on the planet. You would have thought they would have all been eaten by the roaches. Where were the ants and rats? I would have bet there would have been more. Also, what about the people that would have been in space during the last world war? Wouldn't they be the last survivors of earth? Anyway, at the end it was great with what happened between Banner and Hulk. One page conveyed that whole meaning of "Hulk want to be left alone!"

If anybody remembers (which every good Hulk fan should), there were a few issues right after the Onslaught garbage that Colonel St. Lawrence got into it with the Hulk about him always saying he wanted to be left alone. Anybody remember that issue? You get a no-prize if you know the number!

I remeber that. Right before Adam Kurpet came on. 453 maybe.

I absolutely loved HULK: THE END. It was beautifully written, tragic, emotional and one of the saddest Hulk stories of all time. He's always been a tragic character and the ending for him was truly appropriate, with the Hulk finally being left alone and seeing how lonely it truly is.

I would give it to non-Hulk fans and non-comic fans in a second to show them why I love the Hulk.

I only wish the other "End" issues had been this good.

I wish this would get a second printing so I could get a second one (just to read) for a lower price.

Hulk: The End has definitely risen in price. Why? A few reasons.

1. It was written by Peter David, a man considered to be the greatest Hulk writer whom ever existed. And at the time, it looked like he was never going to return to Hulk.

2. It was penciled by Dale Keown, a man considered to be the greatest Hulk artist whom ever existed. And at the time (and still today), it looked like he may never return to Hulk.

3. The story is actually VERY good. In fact, it blows all the other "End" comics out of the water. Hands down.

4. It was a limited printing. They are getting harder and harder to find.

Quality and highly sought after comic + low supply = high price.

If you can get your hands on it, I definitely recommend it. This thing will only go up in value, as it's considered to be one of the "Must Reads/Must Owns" by all Hulk fans universally. It's one of my favorite Hulk stories, and some of the best Hulk art around.
