anyone else ticked that this isnt an "interpromotion" thing? I had heard for months that this book would be a croossover of the M2 world and the "616" universe. What happened, and why is this so bland and boring?

i'm sorry thats ur opinion - I, and a lot of others are quite enjoying it.
I dont think it was supposed to be a crossover, but rather a secret wars style series with the M2 superheroes joining with the older heroes as they would be in the future.

I'm glad it's not going to merge the two universes (or hasn't so far). One element I like about Spider-Girl (the only regular MC2 title right now, I believe), is that I don't have to be versed in the lore of hundreds of heroes and their stories to understand a story involving a huge grouping of heroes like this. I hope it stays exclusively 'MC2'. Time travel is one thing, but multiple dimensions and universes... my head is spinning (more than ususal)!! ;)

While it isn't the greatest arc, it isn't the worst. The art is decent enough, the characters for most part are true to form. Loki is a little cliche... but I'm looking forward to Thor whooping his azz all across Ass-gard, LOL.

Anyway, if you haven't figured it out, this is one of the few titles Marvel puts out on time, even with it being a weekly issue.

Meanwhile I've been waiting for the New Avengers FoReVeR!!! BAH!!!

J2 and A-Next got me into Comics way back in 1999, a pair of the greatest superhero books I've ever incountered. Both for their action/adventure but also its deep character interaction. After both their cancelations I didn't pick up on Spider-Girl and the MC2 Universe became a bit of a footnote to me, all be it a grand foot note. I had hoped this mini would give me back some of that grand A-Next storytelling I've missed for so many years but unfortunatly the character interaction is really piss poor this time around. It is really nice to see Thunderstrike and J2 being important parts of the story, they are a pair of my favorite heroes ever, but without their all important character interaction moments its just lost something.

Still, a good Superhero brawl story and it's good to see a hand full of my favoirte heroes back in action, but it's not as good as the hey day of A-Next and J2.

i thought this book was awesome. i just read it in tpb form, this week. just lovely.

i thought it'd be a crossover of the two continuities, too, but i was pleasantly surprised. it's nice to be wrong, but still be happy with the end-result.

i'm really, really fond of this book, in case you can't tell.
