I remember reading about an old story with Peter Parker's parents working as spies and their run in with Wolverine. Anyone read that who wouldn't mind summarizing what happened?

I can't recall everything, as I no longer have the issue, but I believe it revealed that Wolvy helped deliver Petey.

All I know for sure is that his parents WERE American spies, and that they DID have a run-in with Wolverine.

I think Peter's parents saved Wolverine, and that Peter's mom fainted during the saving (because she was pregnant. Cliche I know but  ). Wolverine was present in the room when the doctor told Peter's parents she was pregnant (I think Wolverine might have even congratulated Peter's dad after hearing the news).

In the early 1990's, Amazing Spider-Man did a story on his parents, around issues 340-360. Check them out, they're cheap to buy. Good read, too.

They weren't really his parents though :(

They were robots programed to kill Peter. The robot dad tried to kill Peter but the robot mom stopped him. Then she got killed by Vulture. It was apparently orchestrated by the Chameleon who was trying to avenge Kraven which soon after realized he was actually mean to him. Then it was revealed that Harry Osborn's masterminded it:confused:
you know, i've wondered about this for some time....but who WERE peter parker's parents?!?!? and what are they doing now?!??
I thought in the recent raimi movies, they were basically described as being deceased? are they, in the movies and comics? are they robot spies? why woouldn't wolverine have smelled that they were robots (if they were metal and not using proper human blood) and is peter described as being an orphan, was he adopted (by his aunt, etc...)
what's his deal?

Pete's parent met Wolverine and fought Baron Von Strucker in Untold Tales of Spiderman# 0 in the 0 issues months of Marvel in either 1997 or 1998.Its drawn by John Romita I think.

Has Wolvie ever told Pete about his parents? I think the reason he didn't reveal the android stuff is because he wanted to keep their memory alive.

And there's nothing cliche about pregnant women fainting after saving mutants with adamantium-laced skeletons. Happens all the time.

You know, if Wolverine ever got tired of killing people and helping every superhero team ever concieved, he could probably be a kickass historian, he's pretty much seen every important event over the 20th century. He probably caused the Hindenburg accident when he lit up a cigar.

his 'parents being androids' was one of the few times i got amazing monthly.
i was 9 or 10, at the most.
i remember thinking that blue cover to whatever issue was going to be worth something...
/also, i really liked some of the jury, at least artistically at that point.
//my subscription ended with 390, and i got the alteranative cover to boot.
