Another great issue. I loved the focus on Bertha as she's my favorite original GLAer.
But wow. Holy god. Dr. Doom killed Monkey Joe. Did NOT see that coming.
Not quite as funny as issue #2, but probably the best issue all-around. And it was nice that Slott explained why Maelstrom, y'know, isn't dead.

Funny funny issue just the fact that Doom even remembered Monkey Joe's name was hilarious, also I'm glad they made it clear that Squirrel Girl beat the real Doom and not some Doombot.
Other good stuff included Flatman's thoughts on Grasshopper, and Doorman's talks with Squirrel girl, but yeah nothing's topping the above in terms of comedy in this series I refuse to believe it.

I like that Doorman shares my feelings about Grasshopper. And if I didn't know better, I'd almost think that line was inspired by my raving for Grasshopper after #2 came out. Someone so needs to steal that armor and try to kill Spider-Man!
This was really a dark issue. I was trying to laugh. But jeez.
Poor little guy. Unlike most of you, I hated the little rat. But still.

I enjoyed the little continuity touch of seeing Doom in the "Valeria" armor that he aquired in the FF "Unthinkable" arc. I can't wait to see how Slott explains how he wasn't eaten by demons and made it back to this dimention.

To hell with Clint Barton, he was more popular posthumously than ever, but Monkey Joe yes we need him back. Hawkeye will be back its only a matter of time but who knows when MJ will come back. Or maybe Dan Slott has all this planned out. Maybe the hand will resurrect MJ and send him on a killing spree thus setting up the Monkey Joe: Enemy of the State 6 issue mini series ive been hearing about!

I wonder how the people who absolutly ripped into Dan Slott over Grasshopper's comments about "fanboys" feel after reading Big Bertha's comments about comic book writers?
Dan Slott's writing and Thunderbolts: the only two reasons I read any current Marvel.
EDIT: Add Robert Kirkman to the only reasons I read Marvel.

The thing I find interesting about Dan Slott is, the folks that like him, really really really like him (I'm in this category). The folks what hate him, really really really hate him. I've yet to hear anyone say "Dan Slott, yea, he's ok."
I don't quite get the hateas, but everone is entitled to their opinions, I guess.

I really haven't heard or seen many Slott haters. Dan Slott will have a good comics career at Marvel from here on in. I can't wait for his Thing series with Andrea Di Vito, and although I really liked his She Hulk, I wasn't a fan of the original artist, so I'll be passing on season 2. If Pelletier was doing She Hulk, I would have jumped on it. (Looking forward to his Exiles work)
Loving GLA!

Allow me to be the first. Dan Slott, yea, he's okay.
This GLA thing is inspired, but some of his other work has been more hit or miss. Like his She-Hulk had a lot going for it, but hit a lot of lame, sour notes as well (speedster couriers? shape-changing servers? a law firm full of supers is about as lame as Damage Control).

On another note, I like how we're leading into "the end of everything" that we've been seeing bookending the issues. Nice storytelling touch.

I absolutely agree about the She-Hulk book.
Though I see very little going for it, all I see is a book full of jokes that are not funny, otherwise-good characters turned into punchlines,a "cute and cuddly" cast of supporting players that wouldn't be out of place in a sitcom pilot rejected by Fox, and self-referential winks and nods at the audience.
And the whole ALLY MC SHULK concept is the lamest of the lame.
It should've been axed, along with the actual TV SHOW that "inspired" this new solo She-Bimbo.
Bleh.
I don't know any "Dan Slott haters" ( Why would anyone hate HIM...it's not like he killed someone's puppy, or bullied them in high school), I DO know many who hate his writing....

Just out of curiosity, have you read anything but the first issue? Because she hasn't gotten laid since then, and the whole point of the first issue was that up until now, Jen's been portrayed as something of a party girl slut, and she's getting her life changed around. Kind of goes against your whole She-Bimbo concept.

WOW...So I was right...the writer turned her into a ridiculously exagerated version of a sitcom bimbo just so there was the illusion of change at the end of the run.
Other writers choose a harder path, like subtle character-driven changes, and events that cause pause and introspection, which would result in change, but if you start with a horribly skewed cartoon, loud and larger than life, then any tiny thing you do (like getting her back to how she used to be before the new solo book) will seem like a "change" and a "journey"

I think the whole book is going to end with what's left of the GLA going back in time.
Maelstorm's building a machine that tampers with the flow of time, and the mention of this seems like a prep for "We're all gonna prevent this from happening by going back in time! Yay! Let's not die!"
Which, incidentally, would be a perfectly acceptable ending. Because honestly, this book is @#$%ing depressing.
Awesome, but depressing. ;)
Great issue, all around.
By the way, I wonder how Doom isn't...y'know...dead. Is this his return, or a "It happened either before he died or after his inevitable ressurection" thing?

issue 3 was great-though I have a suspicion monkey joe and the others will be back somehow - deathurge will restore them or something
best Avengers book being published.
The closest thing we have to a real Avengers book (did you evrr think you'd see the GLA this way?) since Bendis took the lazy route, contradicted everything we know about Avengers history, pointlessly killed off classic Lee/Kirby?Thomas characters and replaced the team with overexposed movie stars.
...and his dialogue aint that clever, either
OK, Quesada, nice joke - can we have the real Avengers back now, please?

As was shown in later issues, Jen's exaggerated behaviour in #1 was due to the emotional state of the character at that time, as a result of her recent changes in RED ZONE and SEARCH FOR SHE-HULK. Jen admits in later issues that she was a bit out of control, and not her usual self.
So the things you are pointing at as mistakes were actually intentional developments of her storyline, and not intended to be considered her status quo.

Again, no you aren't. That was the first issue, and the first issue only. And honestly, it wasn't Slott that put her in that position. That's basically how's she'd been written for the last couple of years. The whole run of Slott's book was Jen trying to earn back her self-respect as a solo character.
For that matter, you apparently only read the words in my post that you wanted to, because Jen got laid all of once in the entire series, in the first issue, and that was supposed to be her low point. So your exajurrated bimbo tag is about as accurate as me saying I have a 14 inch penis.
Before Slott was writing the book, Jen was doing stuff like banging Juggernaut. So, if like you said, bringing her to the point where she was before the solo book, she should be shtupping, oh, let's say Rhino. So really, you just think you know what you're talking about, but you really haven't kept up with She-Hulk the last couple of years.

Really not the place for in-depth She Hulk discussions.
In fact, I would posit that this is really not the place for in-depth discussions of readers overall feelings about Dan Slott.
This should be to discuss GLA #3, or at the very least, GLA the series.
Take everything else somewhere else.

He's inferring that there are elements that he didn't like about the book. Which in turn was referencing my statements of it being a parody of current comics climate.
So your assessment, which is fine for you. Doesn't jive with the statements that were made before you stepped in.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Who'd think that his most heinous act would be to kill a small squirrel :(
Anyway, it was a sick issue but well worth my money. Deathurge seems so damn ominously evil, I liked Big Bertha alot more with this issue too...when she's a supermodel.
Damn she's hot!
Mr. Immortal is particularly pathetic which is sad especially in that disturbing costume of Dinah-Soar. I'm loving Flat man and Doorman's buddy hijinks, they are quite a pair. There's too much breaking the 4th wall stuff though, I guess it's become Dan's forte now but I wished that he toned down that stuff aside from Monkey Joe usage (which looks to be over). I was surprised that they let Dr. Doom make his debut again with this issue, I know he was supposed to be dead and stuff but Doom nearly never stays dead. He overcomes all obstacles!
Buy this book.

I love the fact that the most dangerous villain on Marvel Earth travels halfway across the world to murder a squirrel...
Just something that appeals to me about that.
That would be like Osama himself coming over and shooting someone's dog.

Probably my least favorite issue thus far. Not as much balance between the dark and the humorous(in favor of the former). However, the Doom moment was very well done.
