Good day Folks, I am looking for references to Checkmate Appearances in other Titles?
Specificly:
1. Title and Issue.
2. Nature of Appearance. (What was the reason for their Appearance?)
and
3. Is there the possibility of another Checkmate series?
Thank you in advance.

Other titles in terms of other than the current Countdown/OMAC storylines or other titles in terms of other than the 1988-91 series?
There were definitely Suicide Squad crossovers.
Edit: They're also in Superman Secret Files & Origins 2004.

Might have been in Manhunter (Mark Shaw) via the "Janus Directive" storyline.

Sasha's Bordeaux's joining Checkmate occurred during Greg Rucka's run on Detective. Sometime toward the end of Bruce Wayne: Murderer/Fugitive.

It happens over three issues -- #773 - #775.

FYI, "The Janus Directive" took place in the following books (as well as in Checkmate's own title). I don't have some of these, and others I do own but don't have at hand to see whether Checkmate appeared in them, but:
Suicide Squad #s 27-30
Manhunter #14
Firestorm #86
Captain Atom #30

I believe the very first appearance of Checkmate was Action Comics 598.

That's not correct; Checkmate had its own title several years before this. I think Checkmate's first appearance would have been in Checkmate #1 (but I won't swear to it).

I'm not so sure. Action #598 has a cover date of March 1988. As best I can tell, Checkmate #1 came out in April 1988.
As for other Checkmate appearances, a Checkmate agent named David Said played a significant role in Detective Comics (http://www.dcuguide.com/Bm/Tec_768.php) #768-770. And in JSA Secret Files & Origins #2 (http://www.dcuguide.com/JSA/JSASF_002.php#3), an unnamed Checkmate Knight was forced to fight in Roulette's House, and killed Firebrand.

Sorry, I would have sworn the Checkmate title was out earlier than that. In truth, I never cared for it at all and have only the foggiest of recollections.
It might be worth mentioning that the Detective issues that Loren speaks of above are written by Greg Rucka, who's currently writing Omac Project.

Well Checkmate came from Vigilante, so Checkmate #1 was just an extention of Vigilante (which went 50 issues...?). They probably referred to it's new name before Checkmate #1 or Adventure in the pages of Vigilante.

According to a website I found Checkmate first debuted in Action Comics #598. Checkmate came about from a restructuring of the Agency (which employed Vigilante and Peacemaker in some of its operations). More can be found out about them here:

Checkmate also makes an appearance during the Hyperclan storyline in Morrison's Justice League defending the White House, as well as in the Arsenal Plus one shot. I'm not sure if they ever appeared in the Titans but I wouldn't be surprised seeing as Arsenal was a member.
By the way what ever happened to the Russian version of Checkmate that was introduced in the last issues of the series?
And have Harry Stein, Harvey Bullock, Blackthorn or Val Vostok shown up since the series ended? I'm assuming that Harvey may have since he was originally a Batman supporting character.

Checkmate also appeared in Deathstroke. I think that's where it was revealed that Roy Harper was a member.

Wasn't there an obscure reference to Checkmate in JSA last year. Mr. Justice's great niece (what is her name?) was staging battles between super powered being and I think a member of Checkmate was killed.

Yeah, I think that was a couple years ago in a JSA Secret Files and Origins. A Checkmate agent killed the new Firebrand at Roulette's place.

Didn't a Checkmate agent kill Firebrand in JSA suring the Roulette ("Fair Play?") storyline?

Blackthorn was in that The Witch Is Back two-parter in Wonder Woman a few years ago.
Harvey had a major storyline in Gotham Central last year.
