What was the origional use for the cbr file format. I know now it is used not for illigal uses and I would never download files but was it origionally going to be used for a legal format along the lines of the program marvel put out a few years ago that they have stopped supporting now that let people read some of the marvel comics from your computer about 8 months after released in paper. I have been curious about this since I saw the fileformat mentioned.

The .cbr file format is a renamed .rar file that is used with a image viewer program. .rar files can be used to achieve data. I don't know if the .cbr file format was ever intended to be used for legitimate uses.

.cbr files have nothing to do with CBR (Comic Book Resources).
