I see there was a thread a couple of months, ago, that was about both "Hitch" and "Jurassic Park III" or something, but Hitch was hardly mentioned, so I thought we could start "from scratch."
Personally, I thought the movie was MUCH better than advertised. I didn't think he was "tricking" the women into going out with the guys - well, not in the sense that fly on the wall implied (which was the same way that the women took it at the end of the movie). I agreed with him that he was providing opportunities.
Okay, now everything in blue, above... now that I think about it, again, I'm not so sure. I decide who I want to let into "my world" by who they show me they are. If they mislead me, with or without aid, that feels like a betrayal or a violation. I can't blame others for feeling similarly.
Ultimately, I understood where Hitch was coming from, though, in that women are so hard to approach, sometimes. It sometimes takes "game" to get your foot in the door with someone who will subsequently share her distaste for ... say it with me... people who play games. Yeah.
Giving guys pointers on how to NOT make the worst first-impression... nothing wrong with that.
