alfred isn't a relative to bruce.he has no biological or legal right to bring up bruce as a child.so why wasn't a member of the wayne family contacted after the waynes death to look after bruce?or social services?hmmmm.............

I honestly forget which series it was, but it was in the late 90's (1997+). There was a flashback sequence in which a social worker showed up with a form from social services. The next panel has the social worker holding a wad of cash ($100s), and a young Bruce in the foreground throwing the form into the fireplace. Alfred is somewhere in panel, but I forget where.

Explains it good enough for me.

Oh, it could have been a Chronicles story.

Another interpretation is that Bruce filled out so much counterfeit paper work that social services had no idea what they were doing.

I like to think it's becuase Alfred's been with Bruce since he was born. And he was the most qualified to do it....but I like Poltrgeyst's answer MUCH better. :evilsmile :D
