In one of the teen titans comics it was hinted bats would die after or during the crisis that is coming up. Do you guys think the writers were giving us a heads up or just jerking our chain? Plus did any of you notice how Tims batman costume looked an awfull like the one in the Batman Begins movie?

Word of advice: When you talk about drastic changes, such as death, that may happen in a big-name superhero's life, it's wise to mention a timeframe for how long you think the change would last. That makes it easier for the rest of us to figure out how we would feel about that change if it happened, and whether or not we think it likely that the change in question will happen and last for at least a certain amount of time.

Are you asking us if we think Bruce Wayne could die and stay dead for at least a year or so after the issue in which he dies (in "realtime" - however long it might be from the "continuity time" perspective)?

Or are you asking us if we think there's a chance that Bruce Wayne will die in the near future, around the start of 2006, and that ten years in the future, realtime, in the year 2016, DC will still be publishing comic books in which Bruce Wayne is still dead and someone else is still filling in as Batman?

To the first question, I would say, "Yes, it's quite possible that Bruce could die on a very temporary basis - just as Superman died back in 1992 and came back several months later."

To the second question, I would say, "No, I don't think DC would ever spend a solid ten years publishing Batman comic books about a Batman who is not Bruce Wayne."

(Of course, I freely admit that I never believed they would go for ten years or more publishing a Green Lantern title about a Green Lantern who was not Hal Jordan. But in my defense, Hal had never had any big-budget Hollywood movies or TV series that were all about him, the way Bruce Wayne has had, so he was a bit more expendable.)

I don't think Bruce Wayne will die, we may get something cool where he fakes his death for a while but not actually die, ever

Bale signed a 3 movie contract. Until they finish the other two any death would be very, very temporary. As in not even an arc long I'd bet.

Exactly.

Just makes more sense. A long term death wouldnt be exactly smart on DC's behalf right now. Not with the start of the Batman film franchise re-boot just beginning.

Once again, logic triumphs.
