Hi again. Just made some updates to the trade list. Some Teen Titan, Sups/Bats, Uncanny X-Men, and other stuff has been added. Also, I have a reprint of Amazing Fantasy #15 that came with the delux Spider-Man DVD box set if anyone is interested. Hey all,

As part of the move into the new apartment I managed to get my older comics sorted and organized. I now know what I've GOT. Most of it's Vertigo stuff from the first couple of years of the imprint. SHADE and ANIMAL MAN are already gone, as are chunks of the HELLBLAZER, but stuff like ENIGMA -- which I know buytradestuff had asked about at one point -- THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE Annual crossover, and the original SKREEMER are still up for grabs. Drop me a PM if any of this sounds good to you. I'd cheerfully trade for DVDs, or cassettes/CD's of books-on-tape, stuff like that, it doesn't have to be comics.

I really really hate to do this, but there are so many good traders on this thread that I would hate to see this happen to anybody else, and I feel it my responsibility to say something.

In late July/early August, I agreed to trade CURSD BLADE my Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn complete mini series in exchange for some misc. X-Men issues and a copy of Supreme Power #1.

I sent my books out and he said he did the same. After a number of weeks, I hadn't rec'd the books so I PM'd him. He said he'd go to the post office and see if something happened. After another PM, he told me they must have gotten lost in the mail. He told me that he had extras of the X-men issues I had wanted and would send them, he didn't have another SP #1 and asked if there was anything else I was interested in. After some haggling we decided that he would send me the X-Men books and 3 Amazing Spider-Man tpbs and I would send him the complete Knightfall crossover as well.

He then graciously told me not to send the Knightfall issues until I rec'd my package becasue he didn't want me to fell like he'd ripped me off. I agreed. This was on 9/01.

After 6 weeks, I PM'd him becasue I had yet to get the package. He told me he was bus with school and hadn't sent it out yet. He told me he would mail it the next day. This was on 10/21.

A month later. Still no package. So I sent another PM to CURSD BLADE. I told him I had noticed he had not been on CBR in 3 weeks or so and asked about the status of the package. This was on 11/24.

He read the message a couple days later, but never responded. Still no package.

I understand things can get busy with school and we all have more important things in our lives than mailing comics, but I think I've been more than patient.

I'd like to believe I haven't been ripped off and if CURSD BLADE comes through, I will happily edit this post into saying something nice about him. I've traded with him before and he came threw.

But I though I'd let everyone else who trades on here about this situation just in case there is something shady going on.

In late July/early August, I agreed to trade CURSD BLADE my Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn complete mini series in exchange for some misc. X-Men issues and a copy of Supreme Power #1.

Umm, I want to also warn people about Cursed Blade. DEADPOOL a forum member at my www.ComicCovers.net site sent him some money for a book. Well after months of waiting he still has nothing. I tried acting as a 3rd party to resolve the matter but CB finally just vanished. He did e-mail me once saying "he lost his e-mail address". I asked why he didn't use the forum's PM system to finish the transaction. Needless to say he never replied back. So just a warning to help protect others from a rip-off. :mad:

I trade on this thread and do pretty good; I've gotten some great stuff and have never encountered a problem with anyone. I've been very pleased.

I was curious, however, if there other "places" people here trade on? Or do you stick pretty exclusive to this one? Just wondering how many traders were out there in different places. If there are a lot of other places to trade, it's too bad we don't have one place we can all go thus getting in contact with the most amount of traders. We'd all get more of what we want that way.

Again, just curious. Please post if you do go to other places to trade, let's consolidate to one location as much as possible. If this is not the place for this discussion, I apologize and ignore me.

I also post on ComiCon.com, Newsarama, Millarworld, the Collector's Society Message board, Mutant Liberation Front, Spawn.com, The Comics Journal Message Board, Grand Comicbook Database forum, and Broken Frontier. The ones with the most activity seem to be Spawn.com (mostly action figures, though), Collector's Society, ComiCon, and Newsarama. I've had some really good trades and purchases through Millarworld, ComiCon, and Spawn, and most of the Newsarama people tend to ignore my posting. There isn't a specific forum for these types of listings, but there isn't anything in their rules (as there are here) about listing them. Also, the type of people there are very immature, so I would ask around with other posters to find out if the person seems trustworthy. But it's really all a gamble anyways.

Before I decided to sell/trade my collection and switch to TPBs, HCs, and OGNs, I was very much in the "collector mentality." Even if I didn't like a book, I didn't want to part with it. If so, that would mean my collection would diminish, not grow. It's a sickness, really.

So here's the story, my local comic shop has decided that they are done with back issues :eek: which ticks me off to no extent considering I am just getting into the Avengers/thunderbolts etc. So I am putting up a massive amount of my X-comics to trade and I am opening up anything from my personal collection to trade (but its got to be real good).

I figure because its so massive and so focused on X (and frankly I didn't even know we had a trading thread here till a week ago) That I would give you guys a heads up and a shot to fill out any holes in your collection.
