Alpha Flight hasn't graduated a lot of members to the Avengers so far. Which member of Alpha Flight would be the best fit for the team?

none of the above. I hate Alpha Flight.

OK, maybe Puck. Because midgets are funny.

they need magic. real magic.

From above, and as Rio said, they need magic so I'll say Shaman.

But if you want a really good choice, looking at the cast of New Avengers, or more closely Luke Cage, and then choose one Alpha Flight member, or 'Beta' Flight member, that could create a nice connection.

So, I'd go for Persuasion, daughter of Purple Man. :D

It'd be funny if she became Luke and Jessica's babysitter.

I would've picked Puck if Hawkeye was in the line-up. For some reason, I can see them pal-ling around.

I voted for Diamond lil

Beast

Sasquatch, to take the 'Furry' role that Beast used to fill. :D

SInce Bendis is writing the Avengers, and since he (and a lot of writers apparently) are using Purple Man a lot these days, Persuasion is definately an interesting choice. There's already a lot of built in drama for her character.

Aside from her, Northstar is kind of an interesting character. He'd be cool, though they might as well use Quicksilver since they're both very similiar both in powers and personality.

I've always thought Madison Jefferies in the Box armor was cool.

I was thinking they need a magician as well, so Shaman is the best choice. I think Talisman was made a magician more or less against her will, so I don't think she is the right person for the job. Michael Twoyoungmen, however trained to be Shaman, much like Stephen Stange. He'd be the best choice.

And isn't Diamond Lil dead, along with Northstar? And isn't Aurora nuts?

I voted for Talisman, for several reasons. She is, AFAIK, not currently associated with any team. She weilds magic and has a lot of familiarity with magical threats. And finally, she's HOT. And seriously, the New Avengers are one member away from becoming a sausagefest.

Just had to get behind Sasquatch as he's my fav. AF member ever and is a really light hearted-yet serious kind of guy.

You forgot to include a "none of the above" choice.

I look at the choices and first I though.
Sasquatch, but then I realized they already had alot of super strong guys.

Then I though Auora, Then realized that Warbird and Scarlet Witch already fills any role she could. Warbird matching in powers and Wanda matching the nutjob with a overprotective brother role.

Finally I too seen that the Avengers need magic. So I voted for Shaman the orginal Alpha Flight mystic.

It would be funny if Aurora joined the team. Then you'd have two crazy woman and their over protective speedster brothers on the team. Throw in Sasquach and Wonderman, and you can add their over muscled ex-boyfriends to the equation to add to the drama. Or Box and Vision, if you want their robotic boyfriends instead.

I agree, Sasquatch fullfills the required 'Furry' character that should be in any Avengers group.

I'd say Northstar and Sasquatch have certainly earned their keep, and deserve a shot at a big-name team like the New Avengers. But Northstar's dead. (Well, actually un-dead). Anyway, before he died, he had the X-Men. And I liked him there.

So...

Sasquatch, bay-bay!

Hmmm... Wolvie did join the Avengers after being freed from Hydra's control. So I guess there is sort of a precident for Northstar joining them too now that I think about it (assuming he does get freed from Hydra's control and doesn't stay dead afterwards).

Yeah, I only had 10 maximum slots, so I stuck mostly with the Old Skool team.

Never read Alpha Flight, so I don't know much about them. All I know is that Northstar is appearently gay.

tangentman

Shaman seems like the best choice, since he could fill a slot not currently occupied by the New Avengers.

Powerhouse? Sentry
Sultry and kickass heroine? Spider-Woman
Feral Hero? Wolverine
Urban hero? Cage
National Symbol? Cap
Tech-hero? Iron Man
Smartass veteran? Spider-Man

Still, if not Michael, then Snowbird (resident demigoddess) or Sasquatch (brilliant strong man) would be good alternates. Talisman is powerful, but then again, you would fall into the "plot device power" already done with the Scarlet Witch, given how Elizabeth's powers work.

After what happened with Wanda--and knowing Tony Stark's distrust/dislike of magic--I don't think that they'd pick either Talisman, Shaman, or Snowbird (who--at least formally--had no power unless on Canadian soil).

They need another woman, but Diamond Lil? Do they really need another former/supposed criminal? Nope. I don't think Heather Hudson would leave her crew (if it still is her crew...I haven't read any of the latest incarnations of AF). Aurora is almost as mentally unstable as Wanda is.

Sasquatch? Puck? How about both?

Nah. I like 'em all in Alpha Flight.

I really don't want to see any Alpha Flight members join the Avengers. It just doesn't make any sense unless Canada's superteam collaborated with the Avengers or they had some type of exchange program.

At the risk of hurting anybody's feelings, none of them. None of the Alpha Flight characters are interesting enough (to me) to warrant them even being considered for a slot as an Avenger.

First, Wolverine's already a emmerb so one Alpha Flight emmebr is part of the Avengers.

also, the Avengers are not an American Team, they are the World's Mightiest Heroes. not America's, anyone should be allowed to join.

That's like one person.

He didn't even stay as long there as he did with the X-Men. The man's been on just about every team.

Right, but they are still based in NY. Alpha Flight does their own thing, Avengers do their thing.

Well, it does make sense for Northstar at least. He's in a very similiar boat that Wolverine was in afterall... an Xmen brainwashed by Hydra. So it's not hard to imagine.

They both were Vindicator. James later changed his name to Guardian but he blew up and then Heather became Vindicator.

When they say "World's Mightiest heroes", they mean "World" in the same way that the World Series of baseball means "World".

I always felt Snowbird was an underrated character. She`s has a mix of alien/Indian heritage, has this cool animal morphing power that makes her loses it sometimes and she`s way hotter than Wanda! :D

Yeah, but she gets all jacked when she leaves Canada, so of all the potential candiates she'd easily be the worst Avenger. For it's pretty much Alpha Flight or nothing.

Frankly I'm confused why Snowbird is even around. Didn't her body become Saquaches or something.

Snowbird is only "alien" in the sense that she is a demi-goddess: half mortal, half god. Her mother is the goddess of the Northern Lights. The Shaper used his spell to make Nelvanna appear beautiful since her original form made Snowbird's father fearful. Snowbird is a shapeshifter, she can fly, perceive past events, & has superhuman strength. Shaman made the mistake of making his spell to specific to Canada in order to bind her physical body to "reality". Therefore, when Snowbird left Canada's borders, she weakened near death. Snowbird is a demi-god in the same vain as Hercules is also a demi-god.
