I really hope either Mimic, Blink or Morph die sometime soon.
One of the reasons I buy the book (as part of many), is that it can have a good rotating cast. They are hogging the airtime, and Bebard once saying that they are safe is wrong for the idea's of the book.
All characters should be expendible.
While I'm trying to find the actuall interview, I'll ask you instead. Got a direct link to it, I can't find it.

I like that the Exiles will be picking up some new members from the universe they visit in the World Tour.
I don't like that we'll be seeing Hyperion again. I'm really all Hyperioned out from this book. I don't want to see any version of Hyperion in this book for a looooooooooong time.

SIX SHOOTER: A QUICK CHAT WITH TONY BEDARD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By John Gleason, Comixfan Reporter
Marvel's X-Men panel at Wizard World Philadelphia revealed many exciting stories that we will be seeing soon in the pages of the X-books. One announcement that has been garnering a lot of attention is that of the World Tour story arc occuring in Exiles issues #69-82. Comixfan was able to get a word with Exiles writer Tony Bedard about what to expect in this "World Tour".
Comixfan: How did this "World Tour" come about and why did you want to do a story about these established universes?
Bedard: It all began with me begging Marts to reunite me with Pelletier once I knew that Mizuki would be moving on. I had a bunch of neat story arc ideas which were on my outline for upcoming issues, but they all followed the established pattern of one unrelated adventure after another - stuff with the Imperial Guard, Silver Surfer, Power Man and Iron Fist, etc.
Marts was the one who broached the idea of coming up with a real event to welcome Paul aboard, something that would make folks sit up and take notice of a book that's been around for a pretty long time now. We did some brainstorming and World Tour is what we came up with. One thing I've loved about working on Exiles from the start is that you can pick and choose pretty much any Marvel characters you want, so I can indulge every fanboy fantasy I ever had of writing certain characters or revisiting certain classic storylines.
World Tour is just an extension of that same thing by visiting some of my favorite alternate realities. I was a big New Universe fan when those books first came out. Squadron Supreme and Future Imperfect were also among my all-time favorite Marvel stories. For good measure, I also threw in realities I was less familiar with but I thought were landmarks on the Marvel landscape, so to speak. 2099 certainly counts as one of those, and Heroes Reborn seemed like a good place to have a final battle where you could safely wipe the place out if you had to.
Of course, this isn't all about my personal jollies, I really believe there's a lot of nostalgia for these established universes, and that fans will enjoy revisiting them while the Exiles go through one of the most harrowing periods in the team's history.
Comixfan: Can we expect to see familiar characters from these established universes when the Exiles visit them?
Bedard: I'll really try to get a pretty broad cross-section of the notable characters in from each universe they visit, and the team's roster will change several times throughout this saga, so don't be surprised to see characters from these worlds accompanying the team on to the next adventures.
Comixfan: Are you allowed to divulge any names?
Bedard: We'll see Starbrand, Justice, Spidey 2099, Hulk 2099, the Maestro, Hyperion, and Power Princess among others.
Comixfan: Can you give us any hints at the new villain being introduced during the House of M story?
Bedard: I'm going to be a bit cagey about that for now, except to say he's an old X-Men foe uniquely suited to the Exiles' reality-jumping ways. He also provides unlimited story possibilities.
Comixfan: One complaint from many fans is that the cast for Exiles does not change as often as it should. Will the book's cast be changing with this new direction and if so is there a chance we finally see one of the Big Three (Morph, Mimic, and Blink) go?
Bedard: I think it's been a valid complaint during my tenure, although the last few months have seen some turnover. But now I can promise you truly that no one is safe, not even the three stalwarts who've been with us from the start. We have some change in the lineup at pretty much every single stop in this saga, so the next complaint you'll hear is that there's too much change in the Exiles cast!
Comixfan: There has been a small rumor going around that series may end with Exiles #87. Can you comment on this rumor?
Bedard: I really don't think there's anything to it, especially since Paul just went exclusive to Marvel and committed to a long-term stint on this book. And after World Tour gives us X-Men numbers, we won't have a thing to worry about! But, seriously, Exiles sales have been great, especially for a book that comes out more than once a month. It's one of Marvel's mainstays and it will stick around for as long as you enjoy it.

Well, I don't think it will be the evil Hyperion again. I bet it's more referring to the Squadron Supreme version turning up again. Especially since that's one of the Universes that they're going to. :)

It's gotta be Dark Beast. This would save him from limbo. Plus he's fairly well versed in reality hopping. Given that his study of the M'Kraan Crystal in AOA allowed the Exiles to hop to the Timebroker's lair. He's really the only villain left that has any real awareness of multiple realities and how to access/manipulate them. :)

I really like Morph and Mimic. I know the "rotating cast" was promised in this book, but they need to remain as mainstays.
For the villain, I was thinking Trevor Fitzroy. But he doesn't have reality-traveling powers, just time-shifting ones. (Right?)
"Woo-hoo" for the Dark Beast rumor.

I hope it's him. It's been one of the long running theories ever since there was a tease about the new 'Big Bad'. I'd like to see Claremont use him more, but with Excalibur (vol. 3) over, I don't think he has any place he'd fit. After all the X-Men as a whole would never accept Dark McCoy working with them, and Beast himself I'm sure would have a -huge- problem with it. So better here than limbo. :)

I can do without Mimic. At least as he's been written lately. Same with Morp. I loved the character at one time, but he's been unusually dramatic lately.
I'll be angry if Blink gets the boot. I almost dropped the book when she left the first time.

Yep, Blink being safe is fine. Mimic is a decent sounding board but unless written well (Judd did him well) he's dead weight. And Morph kinda needs to be more serious now that he's also appearing in Outsiders...

It doesn't necessarily have to be someone who's alive or active in current continuity.
I'm guessing Proteus or Legion, myself.

Heh. My private little joke. Shift is basically Morph with Metamorpho's body. Same powers, same shapeshifting humour and flirty personality.

I'm thinking the villain will be Mojo and maybe cement the whole "There's only one Mojo" idea that came up a while ago. Imagine the chaos if Mojo got inside the Panoptichron.

But hey, he'd be playing it for ratings- so it should be enterttaining.
I don't see Mojo working as a regular every day villain, though. He's way too showy, and not too mobile...

The villain that can hop realities could be Spiral. I'd be happy if Dark Beast became a regular, as well.
I thought the Exiles could only go to different universes, niot travel through time. When the fought in the Death of the Phoenix, it was explained that they hadn't shifted in time, but that in this universe time moved slower. But Marvel 2099 and Future Imperfect are the future, no two ways about it. I wonder if that will be addressed at all.
And I'd love to see Mimic leave the team. Morph and Blink are the heart of the book, IMO, and I'd hate to see either of them leave. Morph asked to stay on the team, so unless something traumatizing happens to change his mind, I'd expect to see him stick around. And get rid of Sabretooth ASAP please.

No two ways about it? Those are not the future. They're just possible futures. There's like a thousand ways about it. Just like you said about the Dark Phoenix arc, though; alternate universes move at different speeds.
So although Future Imperfect or 2099 are *possible* futures of 616, they are also possible futures of 617. Or 618. Etc. So let's say that to get the Dark Phoenix story, they ended up in 619, which is a universe that was moving slower. Fine. Then we can just say that for the next few arcs, they'll end up in 613, where time moves a little faster, so it's the year 2099 there.
Hope that made sense...

Numbers are confusing. I think I get what you're saying, though.
If Hulk travels to the future to meet Maestro, are you saying he's actually not moving forward to a possible future of 616, but sideways to a different dimension in which time moves faster and the future is now? Does this mean that there is no actual future in 616, and Days of Future Past/Bishop's time/Cable's time/2099/Future Imperfect/etc. are all alternate realities in which time moves faster? Does this mean Kang/Immortus/Bishop/Cable/Fitzroy/etc. are reality hoppers instead of time travellers? When Legion went back in time and killed Xavier, or Cap went back to 1602, did they actually just travel to alternate realities when time moves slower? Am I thinking way too much into this?

Not what I meant, but that's also a possibility. What I was trying to say at first was this:
-There is no definite future in 616. Those are all only possibilities. (Days of Future past is nowhere like the same thing as X-Men: The End.)
-Just as our 616 has possible futures, so do the other universes.
-So if they go to another universe - one that is moving faster than 616 - they could easily end up in an alternate reality's 2099.
But your interpretation makes sense, too.

Yeah, but they wouldn't be the same possible futures that 616 has, it'd be the futures of the other realities in which things are different to begin with. It's like in Back to the Future II, where regular 1985 (or 616) had one future and Biffed-up 1985 (or 617, for sake of argument) had a completely different one.

It would be cool if Mimik would at least wear the original Mimik`s costume. I mean what`s the point of having Mimik without his goofy costume with the big "M" in front, that was a huge part of the charm of the character! :D

A "classic costumes" conversation may be in order, but I think they established Cal as one of the most popular heroes in his timeline, and the big M just wouldn't cut it - he'd get laughed out of every fight.

Eitehr way, I want more deaths. I like the Weapon X team, they had deaths flying about everywhere. I'm bored with Mimic, Morph and Blink, Oh and they can get rid of Sabretooth while they are at it as well.
