Anybody else disgusted by the sabretooth presented in the xmen movies? Sabre tooth has 2 major stages in his life:
1. bloodcrazed monster. The sabre tooth in the films is not this, he is under magneto's control
2. assasin/weaponX/special service operative: much more then hired muscle, a clever & ruthless character.
Not only does he act like a complete idiot he also looks like a hobo! Horrible....

? Sabretooth wasn't in X-Men 2. That said I'm fine with his portrayal in X-Men the Movie. Though it would have been cool for him to have been tied to the Weapon X program in the film.

My Prediction:
Sabertooth and Deathstrike will return (+ Maverick)
in "Wolverine: Weapon X (The Movie)".
The movie won't "re-tell" what "X2" did, but he will face more enemies who were associated with him at that time.

Just remember one thing. The movieverse is not the same reality as the comicverse. That's the only way that most comic movies will actually please fans. Even Spider-Man altered canon quite a bit for the movie. Power Rangers Gobby the worst example. :p

I didnt like sabretooth's potrayal in the movie but you gotta make some sacrifices since their isnt that much time to devote to each and every character. He wasn't done badly but i think he did have more to offer than a hired gun and i wish we could have seen more of his ferocity. But at least they gave him and Wolverine the final action sequence in the movie and he whooped Wolverine's @$$ to boot.

Of course he'll be back. Either in an X-Men film, or in the Wolverine solo film. He's got the same healing factor that Wolverine has. Do you really think that a blast from Cyclops and a fall from the Statue of Liberty onto a boat will kill Sabretooth? I certainly don't.

I don't see Deathstrike coming back... I mean, you can bring people backfrom most deaths, but hers was pretty permanent...

She already came back in the follow-up to the comic, if I recall. The Adamantium seeped out of her body or something like that.

He didn't have a huge roll in the movies, so he didn't need a lot of time, attention, and background devoted to him. He was the dumb mutant muscle that Magneto needed, and movie-goers accpeted that.

i agree with you 100%, sabretooth is wolverines equal as far as secret service training and weapon x training he should not have been made to look like the average hobo on the corner!

I for one liked Sabretooth's portrayal in the movies because it answered a life long question: Who would win in a fight to the death between Wolverine and Sabretooth?
The answer: Cyclops.
The movie handled Sabretooth poorly but not as bad as Wolverine. However, I WAS disapointed with the lack of banter between 'Tooth and Wolvie. Not once did he call him a sawed off runt or anything. I guess they are going to adress all that in the Wolverine movie, but still.

One he was not under Magnetos' control also note if you are going to say that, then you might as well say that he was under Sinisters' control....hell he let Sinister make clones of himself...
Anyhow, I do agree to some extent on the Weapon X aspect it would have been cool but Otherwise I thought Sabertoothwas portrayed fine. He was portrayed as evil as he was in the comics. It sounded like the character.
Film and comics IMO are two different mediums. Movieverse is a different take then Comic lore so things are going to be different.

Sabertooth in the movies always came across as a creepy serial killer to me.

X men was pretty crap all together, but yeah, Sabretooth was shown as pretty useless. But that's what happens in most adaptations. A major charecter in the comics, is usually shown as an average Joe in the movies.
They probably won't redress this in X3, but what they will probably do is bring back Jean Grey, with the nonsense known as the Phoenix
