There's been an overabundance of stories taking place in the Savage Land lately. From Uncanny to Shanna to New Avengers.
Both Claremont and Milligan have had their respective teams globetrotting to some new and familiar locations alike.
And then there's Astonishing and New, both of which are in the comfort of Westchester.
That said, which location would you like to see an X-book visit for a mission? A previously visited spot? Someplace new? Or maybe a location that's not traditionally related to the X-men?

I voted for the Australian Outback, but Genosha and Mojoworld came close.

It's all about the 'Muir Island', baby. :D

I voted for Salem Center, but I liked the Outback a lot too. My least favorite: Savage Land by far. I would actually be ok with it if HOM erased the Savage Land, so that writer's can no longer use it as an excuse to tell silly stories.

It's Muir for me, but probably because I'm in the middle of rereading Excailbur issues. I miss Moira.
Salem Center also has a warm place in my heart.

My favourite traditional location would be Muir. So much history there with so much resonance for a lot of characters, I'd like to see a return to it at some point, to see what its being used for now that Moira's no longer with us.
As for other locations... hrm. Wakanda would be cool, but we may well be seeing that soon. A visit to the Shi'ar homeworld or Hala (if it still exists?) might be cool too, the X-Men haven't trotted off to space for a while.

Muir Island and Australian outback came close, but in the end I had to go for the Mojoverse...

I voted other. Other being space. If space counts. I love the X-Men in space.
I also like Morlock Alley and would love to see a return there. With some new and old Morlocks populating it.

I'm really surprised that Muir Isle has so many votes! Of course, I voted for it...
It always seemed special and safe when the X-Men went there.. it wasn't so foreign... it was a home away from home. Plus, all the coolest people lived there!

So long as you ignore the fact that CC can't write Scots to save his life.

Y'know, if I wrote X-Men (not that I ever will, the first thing I would do is move my team over to L.A.
I don't think there has been a major team there since Avengers West Coast.
What's that? Runaways you say? Damn.

I voted Salem Center. It was the one my mouse was one when the screen loaded and I couldn't be bothered to move it.

Personally, I always enjoyed the conversations at Harry's Hideaway, for example, Jean and little body Ororo in Uncanny X-Men 270.

i voted for muir as well. i always enjoyed when the x-men went there, and i thought it was a good base-of-operations for excalibur at the time. i thought it was a waste to blow it all up.

Cool, but how about the main part of the thread? Where would you like to see the X-Men visit on missions? They can't sit in Salem Center all the time and Muir's no more...

It's a tough question, isn't it? The XSE has global sanction, and has been in several sites. X-Corp takes care of much of the world...
I like a space romp as much as the next X-fan, and another jaunt seems in order soon. When's the last time Scott went to Alaska? Part of me would like to see him try to reconnect with Rachel (he and Emma presented the Greys to her in the Christmas issue) but that won't happen.
Perhaps we could see Kurt visit Ruritania, wherever the hell that is. He doesn't have enough romantic entanglements in his life.

Gotta go with the classic Salem Center. They started there, and the mansion is a symbol for mutants everywhere.

It annoys me because he wouldn't do it with a Hispanic character without researching, but Scots and Cajuns? Fair game.

I voted Other, because I like the Savage Land stories the best. There have been more good stories in the Savage Land and fewer bad stories than any other major X location that I can recall. The Savage Land has so much more entertainment value, with dinosaurs, lost civilizations, aliens, mutates, savages, winged folk, etc. And it's so big, there's room for more.
With so many titles and so many years of stories, the X-Men need some more locations to travel to. They may not be explorers like the FF, but they need to get out of the mansion more often.

I voted for Genosha, but I also love, Muir Island and of course The Salemn Center.
Moira McTaggert would fit in perfectly in River City.
Also, I KNOW Grant and Mark can do it right. (For obvious reasons, and Mark did it Ultimate.)

I'd love to see the Bermuda island explored more. There was so much mystery about that setting.
Also, there were still unanswered questions regarding the Outback's computer system that I'd like to see addressed. Surely it wasn't just the Reaver's base. What's that ghost town's true origin?

I like dit when they went to Genosha.
X-Tinction Agenda and the arc with Exodus and the Avengers are favourites of mine.
Plus of course, E for Extinction and the one where they give Magneto the island.
Claremont could have done a lot with the island in Excalibur but he chose not to.

I'll say Madripoor.
Claremont's issues of Wolverine that were set in madripoor are some of my favorite X-issues of all time. I really do dig that wild and crazy Madripoorian nightlife.

visits? all around the world of course. and space (Shi'ar most of all). and sf/fantasy worlds/dimensions like in Cockrum's nightcrawler mini. :)
Scotland would be a good begining. :D
