As mentioned some time ago in some of the Identity Crisis posts, back in the "old days," removing someone's memory of certain facts was a fairly common procedure. And I doubt the similarity in title was anything more than a coincidence. (Besides, the IC title didn't come from Meltzer, it was dictated by editorial.)
