It's fresh, rad, wicked and above all collectable! And it's mine all for twenty five pence! Yes, I am now the prowd owner of WildC.A.T.s (Covert Action Teams) tm #1!
Bow down and worship hot super-babes as drawn by Jim Lee!
But seriously folks. WildC.A.T.s (Covert Action Teams) tm #1 was actually rather good. It's not Alan Moore stuff (That's issue #21 I'm told) but it's still fun. Plus, it's actually quite funny, from Lord Emp debating whether or not to forget the whole WildC.A.T.s thing and hire Youngblood instead, to Maul leaping into battle with a smart mouthed midget clinging onto his neck.
In fact, given what I had heard about the ninties, I'ld expected this to be utter dreck, and was plesently suprised to find it wasn't! For twenty five pennies, WildC.A.T.s (Covert Action Teams) tm #1 was quite the bargin!
Anyone else recently done any quarted bin hunting?
I picked up the first issue of the Waid/Wieringo Fantastic Four run yesterday! It was completely sold out when it first came out and yesterday I found MULTIPLE COPIES in this box of old comics.
So I bought one and read it.
Something about reading this first issue AFTER their run has finished makes me appreciate how much Mark Waid just really got who the FF are. I mean he made me see all his stories thereafter in a different light. And Ringo's art is fantastic. I loved that cover.
I broke down and picked up the Captain Atom and Starman series. Those were the comics that got me started collecting. From the issues I've read so far, they've been worth it. Of course finding them in the bargin bins made it lots better.

I've been doing some more back issue bin raiding recently, and in the last two raids I netted some large chunks of the classic New Mutants series from the eighties!
I've managed to get, amonst others, the tale where the mutants are chased over time and space by Magnus, their portion of Inferno, Special #1 (Uncanny Annual #9 is now high on my want list), the introduction to Warlock, the adventures in Legion's head issues and the entire Demon Bear Saga!
None of them are in perfect condition, but they are fine for reading. And for twenty five pence a pop, a real bargin!
I also found, in mint-ist condition, at between twentyfive and fifty pence each, the first twenty five issues of the classic Claremont/Davis run era Excalibur! That is really good reading!

Oh! It's fun because of the scarcity of analogue media. I get it.
Not exactly a quarter bin find, but I snagged the first issue of The Intimates the other day.
