Uncanny X-men (http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/article/showquestion.asp?faq=11&fldAuto=219) has the new Monday with Marts up.

Covering from Nunzio and Christina not being on New X-Men anymore to Mike Marts' experience this past weekend in Philly. Poor Marts not being able to find a decent Philly Cheessteak. In between it covers Colossus: Bloodline, New Excalibur, Exiles, and the cast of X-Men being up for grab post House of M.

So, the "All X-Men up for grabs" statement was not correct. Marts stated, what should have been said was that the status of the entire cast of the X-Men would be up in the air-as in "anything goes".

I wonder if the secret IDs are coming back...

Not bad. This wasnt all that depressing. :D

Im glad that Yost and Kyle are going to continue to use the same characters, instead of just creating a bunch of new ones. I hope he picks up a lot of the plot lines that Nunzio and Christina were working on, especially Sean Garrison. This guy is eeeeeeeeeeeeevil.

Still not digging the title New Excalibur, but I am definitely excited for the book. This looks really promising. The cast is very cool. He said among others. We know Sage is on it. I think Forge is going to be on the team, too. Chris made some hints of him showing up in November. Im glad Michael Ryan is the artist. He isnt my favorite, but he is decent nonetheless. I look forward to this much...

Okay, Colossus: Bloodline. Now that he asked about the title, Im wondering. Bloodline? Like genetics, or family? Colossus's family? Magik? Illyana Rasputin? Old characters showing up? Resserection of Illyana Rasputin? If so, this is definitely on the pull list. I still doubt Magik is coming back, but I will worship David Hine if thats what happens. I dont even care if the story, art, dialogue, whatever is lame (not saying it is or isnt), I just want Magik back. My only hope is that Ord doesnt show up. I cant think of any other villains that Colossus carries a personal grudge against.

Not reading Exiles, but it looks exciting, and Im happy for its readers. The New Universe? New is a word that should leave Marvel's vocabulary for awhile. All that other stuff sounds really cool, though. Im most excited on Beak's return home (if he is really coming home). He deserves a spot in New X-men. Beak is one of the coolest Grant Morrison creations.

The up-for-grabs thing with the X-men cast has me...worried. The rosters right now are mostly decent, and this is going to be a big change for better...or for worse. I just hope they make some good decisions. Maybe Chris can make his team Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, Longshot, Wolverine, Colossus, Havok, and Gateway. That would rock.

The only thing I have to say about the whole Phillidelphia thing is that Mike Marts is disgusting. lol

Foxx? Who is she? Xorneto, maybe. Or maybe Mystique...

District X ends tomorrow. Not saying its a bad book, but Im glad its over. We dont need an ongoing solo title like that.

X-men The End heats up. That means that a lot of people are going to die. It must be so fun for Chris to write this book. He just gets to kill off anybody, and nobody is going to freak about it because its non-canon. Thats the beauty of writing stories like Age of Apocalypse, Too Much Information, Days of Future Past, etc.

Marts is saying that the various cast members are NOT up for grabs, and that the quote indicating that they were was taken out of context. And to this, I say a hearty AMEN. I have come to really like all of Whedon's six X-men and how they interact together, so I'd hate to see them split up. It would have been shocking if editorial didn't keep Whedon's AXM cast in place, given it's critical and commercial success, but it's nice to hear from an official source that the cast won't actually be "up for grabs."

I'm a Colossus whore, so I was already going to be all over his mini, but I must say the setup sounds pretty cool. Dark tale set in Russia, with ominous teasings about Colosssus' ancestry, and a mysterious villain thrown in the mix. Even though I agree with those who feel Colossus is best suited appearing in stories with his fellow X-buddies, this sounds promising.

Foxx? Who is she? Xorneto, maybe. Or maybe Mystique... She's the woman on the cover who comes between Rogue and Gambit in this arc.

I think they should number the X-Men then the writers pick 6 numbers each and they have an X-Men lotto to see who gets who!
Then the ones who don't get picked all get sucked into Xorn's head.

Fabulous darling.

Forge is supposedly becoming a permanent castmember of CC's Uncanny. :)

I'd think Bloodline would be a perfect time to see a ressurection of Illyana. I mean, Joe Q says that it'd have be a great story for a character to be ressurected... and I figure how better time than a mini focusing on Colossus and possibly family back in Russia? But yeah, it's been said before that the mini will focus on Colossus and family. Though I'm highly doubting we'll see her ressurected.

Maybe Amanda Sefton could sacrifice herself to bring Illyana back?

To be fair New Universe is old. Much older than New X-Men, New Excalibur, New Avenger, etc. It was a line of comics published by Marvle in the mid 80's that took place in a universe different than the core MU. Titles included Kinckers INC, DP 7 (whih I highly recommend), Nightmask, Star Brand, plus a handful of others. Mostly a failure, but there is some good stuff in there.

They should be in the pages of a non-solo ongoing title. imo, I would prefer to see it in the pages of either Uncanny, or New X-men (which should be called New Mutants). But if she were to come back in this mini, I could still care less. There was no reason to kill her off back then. Scott Lobdell pulled her into his book just to kill her off. He killed off Colossus, Mikhail Rasputin, Nikolai and Alexandria Rasptuin as well. Does Lobdell have a problem with the Rasputin family?

Magik was one of my favorite characters. I would give her about 4 % or so as to why X-men in the 80's was the best anything ever. 4% is a lot for one character for a time in which just about everything X-men rocked.

When Marvel owners said "no more new universe" Jim answers "Bye-Bye".

Starbrand (Shooter/Romita Jr) was a good series. but most of the new universe series were crap.
But some years later I loved the issue of Mark Grünwald's Quasar in the new universe.

Thats the problem with calling books "New" (something). Because then a decade or two later, its just like...new?

When was the last time the universe was seen?

We get another shake up in the X-Men titles about a year after the last shake up. With all the stuff happening in Marvel I feel like dropping it all together.
