What is the CBR policy on profanity? I thought that it was supposed to be banned from the boards. But I've seen the "f-bomb" dropped all over the place.

It depends on which board it's on, and the context. For instance, YABS is pretty loose, as Gail isn't one for censorship, and Comm has certain rules about it (Brian doesn't mind as long as it's part of a mature constructive post and used sparingly, not just hurling it around as an insult).

Profanity guidelines differ from board to board. YABS and the Community Board are perhaps the most relaxed about it, while the TV & Movie Board is probably the most conservative.
Generally, it is left up to Moderator discretion though profanity should never be used just for the sake of using it - it should always be used in a proper context and never excessively.
