View Full Version : Questions I have from Batman : Villians Secret Files

Ok. .

now I havent' been a "regular" Batbook reader since Cataclysm/No Man's Land and then the "Hush" arc.

Although I picked up the first arc of "War Games", I dropped it after the first Act, cause I was thoroughly unimpressed with it.

When I saw Batman : Villians secret files, this past week, I picked it up on a whim and a suggestion form the store . . and as a result, I have a bunch of questions from the main story:

Poison Ivy: She's dead? when did this happen? what are the details?

Riddler: He's dead? When did this happen? what are the details?

Two Face: he's cured? with plastic surgery? when did this happen?

Hush: He's not Tommy ? huh?

The Red Hood page just made me shake my head. . . obviously, they cant give too much away since the story is still taking place . .but still. . . . bleh.

at least the Mignola Clayface story was fantastic, and worth the cover price, and I LOVED the last panel which directly ties into Crisis on Infinate Earths, and pretty much admits that characters who died in that miniseries are not necessarily dead . . .

still. . a poor job by editorial of getting new readers hooked

Poison Ivy: She's dead? when did this happen? what are the details?

This happened just a couple weeks ago, in Gotham Knights #65. Bruce Wayne was able to cure Ivy of her plant powers, but then she decided she wanted them back, and Hush tried to return them. She didn't survive the procedure.

Riddler: He's dead? When did this happen? what are the details?

Riddler's not dead, he's just gone through an extensive makeover. He's currently bedeviling Green Arrow over in his book.

Two Face: he's cured? with plastic surgery? when did this happen?

Hush fixed his face with plastic surgery in the aptly-named "Hush" story arc. And if you think that's farfetched, he's the same guy who turned Killer Croc into a Daemonite and turned a mute hunchback into a tall speaking man.

Hush: He's not Tommy ? huh?

In an issue of Gotham Knights a few months ago, Hush kidnapped Alfred. While in his hideout, Alfred wandered around and found a bound and gagged Tommy Elliot in a closet or something. Then he was hit on the head, and now he has the most selective amnesia in the world concerning the subject.

Thanks for the info Sean.

wow. . it really sounds like the Bat-books have gone into the toilet.

lots of complete stupidity and utter crap in the info you supplied for me.

Glad I didn't read that issue of GK. . as Ivy is my favorite Bat Villian. . that would have pissed me off.

I'm in your camp with Ivy, bert...I love her and I hated her death. Though with the way it was handled, I'm not sure if the death is supposed to be "final"...the vines growing around her grave signal her return, I think. Something tells me she'll be back, and with a bit of a power upgrade...soon enough.

The Bat-books aren't actually too bad right now. "Batman" has been a consistantly good read, and Black Mask has really started to stick as a good foil for Bats. Detective is good if you like darker, more grim street crime kind of stuff. And I keep hearing good things about Legends of the Dark Knight. Gotham Knights is iffy. I was really liking the Ivy arc up until her crappy death.

she not dead

Think they pretty much hinted that when Batman looked at the grave it had no plants on it. Then when Hush looked at it later..it was covered in Ivy

What happen to a plant when you put it under ground..?

I definately think that Ivy WILL be back. DC isn't that stupid or desperate to kill off one of Batman's premeire Rogues.

I liked this book. It was pretty good. I liked the info it gave me on some of the Rogues. I thought the Black Mask story was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was how he said the Joker was old news. That didn't sit well with me at all. The Clay-Face story was ok. It read too much like an Adam West show.

Now I have a few questions of my own:

When and how did Ra's Al Guhl die? I know he was in Death and The Maidens, but I didn't know he died in it. That sucks.

When did the Man-Bat become a good guy? And when did he have a wife and kids that are like him? I knew that at one point, he infected his wife, but I didn't know she stayed that way and they had kids.

And please refresh my memory as to why Tim Drake left Batman?

Thanks to everyone who answers. :D
