I stopped reading midway through Madueria..Madeuria...Maduri...Joe Mad's run. Around issue 340 and didnt pick up again until the early 400's.

Question is did i miss out on much on Uncanny and the accompanying X-men Issues. I know there was a big magento storyline in there somewhere (again).

But yeah was there any good stuff in that lot or any good artists in that run and what issues should I check out? (adjectiveless X-men as well..)

Thanks!

I thought it was great stuff, although I don't remember any exact stories or anything.

I don't have a good memory like that, and my past comics are buried away.

You missed the Seagle/Bachalo and Davis/Kubert Uncanny era, which I enjoyed very much.

340-350 featured the x-men in space, mostly. also, it ended with 'the trial of gambit', which brought a few changes to the x-universe.
351-394 featured some new x-men (marrow, maggott, dr. reyes), xavier's return, magneto's return, the twelve storyline, claremont's brief retun to the x-books, eve of destruction (magneto's exit, for a while), and then the beginning of casey's run (which i think is okay, but not as decent as the end of his run).
so, yes, they are okay issues, as a whole theyre kind of fragmented (5 diff creative teams in the span of 60 issues) but i would recommend the majority of the issues as worth reading.

UXN (http://www.uncannyxmen.net/) is a good place to get past issue summaries, I dropped not long after you though from what I've picked up/can remember:

1) Operation Zero Tolerance - Human/Cyborgs/Sentinals, really not more needs to be said, oh Maggot joined.
2) Xavier remained powerless for a time after Onslaught's events, was found in the Hunt for Xavier along with a Sentient Cerebro that wanted to kill/store mutants for cataloging or something. Nightcrawler & Shadowcat re-join.
3) The Twelve - apocaplypse story, Cyclops was possessed/bonded with Apocolypse (?) X-man died destroying them.
4) Magneto & Genosha - he got to rule Genosha, was given it by the UN I think, Cyclops is back. Somewhere along the line there's a relaunch of the X-verse [6mths have passed 'off panel'] Claremont is back writing, Jean & Psylocke have switched powers in the 6mth break & bunch of other wierd stuff that never got explained. Rogue & Gambit somehow seem to become the leaders of the 2 teams (her power goes wacky too).
5) Collusses died in the creation of a cure for the Legacy Virus & Kitty Pryde quits the X-men to go to college
6) Bunch of X-men branched off into a seperate title of Xtreme (Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Psylocke, Thunderbird), Pyslocke dies by sword fight. Bunch of new characters most notiably Sage (formerly known as Tessa, Sebasation Shaw of Hellfire Club's old assistant, was apparently Xavier's spy there) who's telepathy has been sidelined in favour of having the brain of a computer and ability to 'jump start' mutant's powers.
7) Simultaneously: Grant Morrison's run, Xavier's becomes a full blown High School for mutants. Cassandra Nova (Xaviers twin that he tried to murder in the womb but 'evolved' in a sewer) attains control of newly evolved Sentinals wipes out Genosha & other dastardliness. In UXM not much apart from a Hooker (Stacy X) joins Nightcrawler, Iceman, Angel and a couple of others for a few jaunts, oh there was X-Corps. Banshee now an alcoholic has set up offices in Europe with a task force team to help mutants, all goes bad courtesy of Mystique & others.
8) Emma Frost becomes an X-man (she was teaching on Genosha - after Gen X went tits up - but survived with a handy new "secondary mutation" she can turn into diamond)
9) Frost has psychic affair with Cyclops, Jean dies, Jean comes back, Jean dies. (Insert Phoenix lower level type things and Magneto [Xorneto] destroying half New York after having been revealed posing as a teacher [Xorn] at Xaviers for months, he then dies) etc etc etc.....

350 was the Gambit on trial story, which I thought was okay.

351 was a good solo story for Cecilia Ryles.

394 was a crappy beginning to the X revamp. Beautiful art though.

Those are the only issues I've read.

You missed a lot of good stuff outside of Uncanny X-men but still in the X-universe.

Warren Ellis's X-Man 63-75
Mutant X 1-32
Milligan's X-force 117-129
Kelly's and Preist's Deadpool 1-50

All better then Uncanny X-men, for Uncanny just pick up the trades of Dream's End, Poptopia, and Eve of Destruction (which may or may not be out).
