X-Factor Annual #4: So, what was going on?

This issue opened up to find Jean catatonic, being pulled by a tractor beam over the South Atlantic, with Beast holding on for dear life to her ankles.

It was a rather bizarre, yet awkwardly amusing, opening to X-Factor's involvement in the Atlantis Attacks storyline.

A caption was included telling readers that an upcoming issue of X-Factor would reveal the circumstances of Jean's kidnapping by Ghaur. But of course, for whatever reason, we never saw an explanation.

So, without further adieu, what the heck was Jean doing, in costume no less, when Ghaur's tractor beam snagged her? And what was the Beast doing that he was there to grab hold of her?

Nah, Jean was in costume. Then again, who knows what turns superheroes on. Scott sure seemed to like it when Emma was wearing Jean's costume.

Perhaps under the influence of Ghaur, Marvel Girl telekinetically put on her costume?

It goes like this: Hank and Jean were having a picnic (in costume so they wouldn't be recognized) when suddenly, Apocalypse came out of nowhere are started putting the moves on Jean. So Hank picked up the nearest can of spinach, and downed it, gaining incredible super strength. He then picked up jean by her ankles, and swung around with her in a circular motion, smacking Apocalypse with her head and sending him flying.

No one is sure where he ended up, as he sailed far off into the distance, and over the trees and mountains in the horizon. But if one REALLY cared, they could've followed the smoke trail coming from his ears.

But Beast was still in mid-swing when the tractor beam hit, involving them in the epic crossover that was Atlantis Attacks. :D
